I have read several books by this author. This one was very disappointing. Storyline felt flat found myself skimming through pages. The characters were very uninteresting.

Lynsay is one of my favorite authors! The read was fantastic as usual; but seemed slightly rushed. Still can’t wait to read about the rest of the brothers!

This is book 6 in the Highlander's series. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the previous books so you know who some of the side characters are. This one is about Aulay Buchanan and Jetta. Aulay is the older brother to some of the characters from previous books. He has gone to his clans hunting lodge to try to take a break and just relax. While fishing with his brother they find a woman in the ocean who only wakes long enough to say if she is found, she will be killed. With no clue who she is or where she came from or whether she will even survive her injuries, they decide to call her Jetta. When Jetta wakes, she has no memory of who she is or what has happened. And since she woke with Aulay in her room, she assumes he is her husband. And his brother tells him to let her keep that assumption and heal. But the more time they spend together, the more they both come to care for each other. And Aulay wonders if he can keep her if her memory returns, or if she will turn from him in anger. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Aulay from the start is a stand up man who truly cares for others and wants to protect them to the best of his ability. He always tries to act with honor, even when it is truly a hard thing for him to do. Jetta is a sweet, kind, and caring woman. And even once she finds out what has happened, she doesn't change. It's just her natural disposition. They truly are perfect for each other, and their interactions together are great to read. After reading this one, I really hope we get books about the rest of the brothers!!

This was so fun! A seriously entertaining read with an excellent cast of characters. The Highlander’s Promise was one of those stories that had me smiling the entire time. Aulay and Jetta were great. I enjoyed their back and forth as they got to know each other in the midst of their crazy circumstance. Jetta was so sweet and accepting and I loved her attraction to Aulay. That made for a lot of entertaining scenes. Aulay was wonderful and I instantly liked him, he was sweet and caring. Watching him trying to behave himself around Jetta when he was so attracted to her was totally fun and had me laughing. I love how the story unfolds and Jetta remembers more and more and how everything is pieced together. This is my first time reading Lynsay Sands and all I could think was “where the heck have I been?” I jumped into the middle of a series but didn't feel like I was missing anything. I actually want to go back and read previous stories because it was such a great group of characters. Everyone involved was awesome. It was just this fun group of people full of his brothers and sister and their spouses. It was like fun chaos when they were all together. This was fun and light. There was a nice build happening, good character development, and a nice bit of heat. I was hooked by the mystery playing out and loved all the developing hints. I was excited while reading and couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. Just enjoyable and fun, not taxing at all. There was a great conclusion which I really loved and was happy Aulay and Jetta got their HEA. Sometimes it was crazy silly but mostly it was just out right fun. This was a winner! I had read a few of the other books in this series, so I was interested in this one. I liked Jetta and Aulay well enough. They’re both good people and loyal and I liked their spark together. Both of them seemed to fall into their spouse roles quickly and there was chemistry. Of course there are loads of brothers and sisters and wives, but I gave up trying to keep them straight. Plot wise, it was interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever read amnesia in a romance book before and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. Of course it made sense to not be honest with Jetta from the start, but it was also pretty shady. The villain was interesting and not what I expected. Overall, it was a quick and mostly fun read. I do like this cast of characters, so even though I have no idea who is who, they are the reason I keep reading. FYI: There is a lot of talk of rape towards the end. **Huge thanks to Avon Books for providing the arc free of charge**
