LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. Perfect ending to a fantastic trilogy. Hemera is everything i love in a heroine, strongwilled, loving, misunderstood, underestimated....... all of it wrapped up into one perfect package. Talon is her perfect counterpart and the epitome of what a leading male character should be, smart, tough, stubborn, protective, confident, and soft hearted when it matters most, when he finds his perfect match. Im not sure how im going to find my next book when it seems as if nothing will live up to this fantastic, AMAZING series.

The King & His Queen by Donna Fletcher, is the third and potentially final novel in her “Pict King Series”. Full disclosure, I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review I could not wait for this book. I wanted this book to be about Talon and Hemera since the introduction of Hemera in the previous book in this series. I was not disappointed. This book was everything that I wanted it to be. There is action, romance, and frustration on Talon’s part. I could not put it down, even after reading it a second time. I love how Donna Fletcher creates her characters. They are not perfect, far from it, but they feel real, well as real as reading a book set long ago in the Highlands. However I was able to identify with each one of these characters and feel as though I knew them. This was a fitting end(?) to this series. I do hope that there will be additional stories written about these characters in the future. I highly recommend this book and the entire series..

This story is such a page turner. I was so entrapped that I finished the book in two (2) days, then I reread it because it was so charming. The final story of King Talon and his Queen keeps you laughing and even blushing at some points. A recommended read and a print to add to your Donna Fletcher Collections.

What a great ending to this series by Donna Fletcher. In it we finally see the king brought to his knees by Hemera. Talon is the king of the Pict nation and as king he expects to be obeyed, but every time he turns around Hemera is doing something to defy him. So he finds he must find her a husband before he does something her regrets...like making her his. Hemera knows that everyone thinks she is slow-witted, but she could careless about it. She holds her own counsel. Talon, the king, stirs feelings in her that she never thought to have. She is content to live a simple life enjoying nature. But when Talon and her become lovers she finds herself wishing for a life with him, but he is betrothed to another and she knows that it will end. Talon has decided as king he can do as he likes and the more he thinks on it the more he has decided that he will take Hemera to be his bride. Now he must convince a woman that swore to never marry that she cannot live without him, while protecting her from an unforeseen enemy. Loved this series and the characters. Book can be read as stand alone or with the series.

The King and His Queen by Donna Fletcher Pict King Series Book Three Talon, King of the Picts, has unrest in his kingdom. He needs a queen that will give him an heir. Something people are starting to think he cannot accomplish. He has traitors within and besides his faithful friends, Wrath and Paine, he trusts no one. And then there is the problem of Hemera. Hemera loves her freedom after so many years of slavery with the Northmen. She was given Paine's old home from when he was an executioner and it's plenty far away from others. Everyone thinks Hemera is slow-minded, and that's fine with her, she prefers being alone and in the forest where nature speaks to her. This is the last book in the trilogy and hated to see it end. I loved all three stories and the unique characters—especially Bog, Paine's wolf. The reader gets to see how Talon is from the previous two books, but he's really so different when you “get to know him” in his own story. **Sexual content

A Mighty King .... Talon the fiercest King of all Picts needs to find the one woman who will be his Queen and give him what his previous wives weren't able...an HEIR! Love isn't necessary for the union! His enemies are getting bolder, and unrest in his villages. He definitely doesn't need Hemera, the one woman that has him losing control and causing unrest in his kingdom. She's vexed him so much that he did the unthinkable -HE KISSED HER!!!! A Woman destined to be Queen... Hemera really doesn't want to create any problems for the King not after taking her and her sister in after escaping the Northmen. She really can't help defying his orders, after all she's certain someone is betraying the King and she's just the person to find out who it is. What she never expected was for him to kiss her! And everything changes. Tuahna a love that binds them forever! A love that can't be denied can bring a kingdom to its knees or greatness and power. This was one sensational story! The reader will definitely get a surprise in this epic love story. One is transported to a time when Picts ruled! Donna Fletcher will draw you in this stunning tale of treachery and betrayal and a love that defied the odds. I highly recommend all of Donna Fletcher's books they never disappoint ! Received a copy from the author for my honest unbiased opinion.

Loved this book. I thought it was the best one of this series not saying the others weren't good because they were. Donna Fletcher takes you to another place in every book she writes.

'The King & His Queen' by Donna Fletcher is book Three in the "Pict King" Series. This is the story of Talon and Hemera. We do meet Talon in the first book and Hemera in the second book. Talon and Hemera do meet in the second book and have a little story line. I have loved this series and Ms. Fletcher's books so I would hate to see you miss any of her books but this can be a standalone book. Talon is the King of the Pict but his command has been coming into question due to the fact he has been married twice but has not produced in any heirs. Both wives were let go so that he can move forward in finding a wife that can produce a son/child. His former wives did remarry and have children. So Talon's people are starting to question his future as king. Hemera is the sister in-law to Talon's trusted guard/friend. Talon is under the impression that she is slow minded from the way she acts and talks. But the more he gets to know her the more he realizes that might not be the case. Either way he is having a hard time staying away from her. Hemera likes to be by herself allot to think. The other thing she loves is to be in the woods and work on her garden. Talon works to keep her safe by trying to keep her confined to inside and not go beyond the gates. But Talon is finding that Hemera lives by her own rules. I truly wish I could put into words how much I enjoyed this book. From reading the other books I had slowly and painfully waited for this book to come out. Talon is the strong Alpha male who is trying to understand his growing feelings for Hemera. Talon has to struggle with finding a wife that will produce strong children and help him rule over his people. At first, he didn't even think that Hemera would even be someone to consider for that position. Hemera was used to always trying to protect her sister and deal with the hardships that came with that. In addition, she likes to stay to herself and she doesn't see things as others do. But she does start to have and attraction to Talon. Hemera knows that she will never be his Queen and not just because he wouldn't consider it but because she wouldn't want to give up her freedom that she has now. I highly recommend this whole series and wish that there was a higher rating that 5 Stars for this book and the series. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
