They say your heart only beats for one man.

Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end.

I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit.

Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

They say that all great love stories have a happy ending.

I, Francesca Rossi, found myself erasing and rewriting mine until the very last chapter.

This is a dark, twisted, intense story and I had a hard time with it. I mean I've read a lot of books about kidnapping, murder, and women forced to do things they shouldn't but this book takes it to the next level. At first I didn't want to finish the book and I even put it down a few times so I could take a break from Francesca's story. But I am so glad I finished reading it because no matter how horrible I thought Wolfe was with her, her story needed to be told. Great writing, troubled, interesting characters and a raw, gritty storyline make this an intense read.

I definitely had mixed feelings about this story. I was angered and saddened by the Thief’s ugly actions. I do not condone his behavior in any way. That being said I also felt for him. He’s a terribly broken and angry man in need of someone to show him love. Francesca is quite young. Although I didn’t agree with some of her actions or thinking I still found her intelligent and strong. I liked how she didn’t let her situation break her and how she faced things head on. (3.5⭐️)

Mafia princess and heir Francesca Rossi can't wait for the masquerade ball because she's finally going to kiss the dazzlingly handsome Angelo, her childhood crush. According to Rossi family tradition, the last Rossi girl to marry writes 3 notes that will predict the next Rossi bride's love. Wanting to rush fate, Francesca had stolen one of the notes and it predicted that tonight she was going to be kissed by the love of her life. When the lights go out at the masquerade ball, the arrogant but stunningly handsome Senator Wolfe Keaton steals a kiss from Francesca and afterwards, blackmails her father into handing her over as his bride. Angelo is heartbroken when he finds out and when Francesca tells him "Maybe in the life life", Angelo tells her “No, goddess, definitely in this one.” Who will Francesca end up with? The Kiss Thief is a gut wrenching, emotional, action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story full of twists and turns that will suck you in

I was very excited to read this book. I had heard a lot about it and was intrigued. I am happy that I read this book. I enjoyed it but did not love it. First, I will say that this is a dark romace. There is content in here that will be big turn offs for many and possible triggers for others. So, please do some research before buying/reading this book. I think this is one of those books that you either love or hate. For me the biggest drawbacks to this book was the characters. I found it very hard to connect with and like, Francesca and Wolfe. Wolfe was very cruel and honestly a jerk. For me his redemption came too late to increase his appeal. Francesca was simply immature and frustrating.

BEAUTIFUL HANGOVER! So Darn Good! Flawless well written read that gives you all the feels with inescapable twists and turns that shocks, delights and repulses you but will be be worth every word in the end! I LOVED this read! First ever read that I have read by this author and it won't be the last. Intense, edgy, fierce, exciting, angst, fear, sass, grueling, chaotic, shocking, speechless, demeaning and passionate. A flurry of heartfelt emotions and exciting hot dominating chemistry. A real page turner that held me captive blinded with intrigue lust and inescapable suspense as the reality of it all sinks in with a haunting hangover making me want to read it all over again!

Not your typical hearts and flowers romance This author definitely has cornered the market on writing barely-redeemable male lead characters who dance right up to the line where power morphs into cruelty. Wolfe and Francesca have a difficult enmity-based relationship, one that rearranges the usual order of romantic arcs yet still manages to peel away their protective layers until they find the truth in their hearts. There is plenty of angst here, some questionable consent issues, and plenty of power plays by all the players. But there's also a sweet and satisfying HEA that's well worth the journey. This book extremely well-written, if just a little reminiscent of the author's early book, Sparrow. These are characters you will come to care about, even if you don't always agree with their choices. It's quite dark at times, so be forewarned. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The Kiss Thief is an unexpectedly, tumultuous journey. Kisses are stolen. Lives are changed. Things are lost. The reader will be helpless to stop this runaway train from crashing most spectacularly. They will waver. They will wonder. They will be lustful, loving, and torn. Some will be confused, others indignant but most of all they will be understanding. It's a nontraditional romance. (Like you would expect anything else from LJ Shen.) It's full of passion, lust, and love. It's not the stuff Disney sells but it feels more real. Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood

This book got me to stand up and clap at the end, damn LJ Shen you have kick your standard out of the park and set the bar for this year very high. Automatically at top of my fav 2019 books and not sure if it will back down, might I say the year just started. Wolfe and Francesca will become a couple everyone will talk about for years to come. Their chemistry is off the charts, arranged marriage has never been this interesting and v-card hasn't been tested this far. I definitely love all of the anti-heroes the author has presented us with, but Keaton might have beaten Vicious and that is a very hard one to get. You will be sitting down not even sleeping to get until the very last word. It will suck you into the great black hole and never let you go, so be ready, get yourself comfortable and with everything you need, you will be in for quite a ride.

WOW!! Talk about starting 2019 with a bang. My first read of the year and I absolutely loved it. From the stunning cover and reading the blurb I've been intrigued and excited to start this one. This story was different and completely captivated me from the beginning. The story of a girl raised to be a perfectly compliant young lady, basically nothing more than eye candy. The ultimate prize for the most powerful and eligible suitor. Francesca Rossi has been promised to Angelo Bandini for as long as she can remember, he comes from a wealthy family a perfect match for her. However her life takes a dramatic turn when she has to pay for the sins of her Father. Now she's stuck between two men, one she loves deeply and one she loathes. Both with their own agendas for wanting her. I absolutely adored Francesca, she proved to be more than just a trophy wife. She's strong with an iron will and fierce determination. I was kept on the edge of my seat throughout this story. All the power plays, secrets, vengeance and lies had my head spinning. It's a story I won't forget and one I will be re-reading for sure. There are some fantastic characters that I absolutely loved, some I hated with a passion. But to me, that makes for the best kind of book. All I will say is the big bad Wolfe has definitely left his mark on me.

This is my first LJ Shen book but it certainly isn’t my last! This book blew me away on so many different levels and ticked all my boxes for what I look for in the “enemies to lovers” trope. Well written with a unique storyline and characters that I both loved and hated at the same time, I could not put this book down. Francesca is in love with the boy she grew up with. She has followed her family’s traditions and guidelines and is finally ready to claim what was supposed to be promised to her. That is until a man named Wolfe, swoops in and steals her future, her happiness......her kiss. The build up and tension in this story is insanely hot and tormented- I couldn’t turn my pages fast enough. I loved how this author took me on a journey and had me hating, then somehow swooning for Wolfe. Made me want to scream at Francesca one moment and then admire her strength and courage in the next. The chemistry between these two is scorching hot and the love scenes are unforgettably delicious. There is a slight nod to cheating but trust me, it is in the mildest form possible, (At least to me it is) so if that is a “no-go” for you, please don’t let it detour you from reading this book. In my opinion, this book is a must read for 2019 because it is wonderfully written, unfolds at a smooth pace and is one that will stick with you long after you are done. I highly recommend this book!

The Kiss Thief was an exciting and enjoyable read. Francesca is forced to marry a man; she doesn’t know. One who wants to destroy everything she knows. I felt a Beauty and the Beast vibe through this story. I could see how Wolfe could have been beast. All alpha and wanting everything his way. Though I felt the story was on the slow side. I enjoyed it. I felt that as the story went along and you saw how these two grew together, it got even better. I don’t want to give a lot of the story away. Because I want others to enjoy it as well, it’s a solid story, with a lot of twists. The two didn’t get to me emotionally, but I did feel everything they felt. And I truly believed the connection between these two at the end of the story. Overall, I have to give this Four Boundless Stars.
