This was a nice story but it seemed to be slow in a few areas which was disappointing. The characters were fun and I loved their exchanges. The descriptions were detailed enough for you to picture it without getting overly detailed. Im assuming the stories to come will be about the Lairds friends and I would read them as well. “I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.”

Oh how I just love good banter in a story! The Laird's Willful Lass by Anna Campbell is book 1 in The Lairds Most Likely series. I am truly in awe in Anna’s writing and her stories. Her characters come alive, her descriptions so vivid that you can picture it all in your mind and this story is very original plus it is just a joy to read. I can’t say enough about this historical highland book. This story has a carriage accident, injury, kindness, artistic talent, beautiful landscapes, perseverance, attraction, banter, willfulness but does it find love. Travel back in time to Scotland and find out in this wonderful and delightful story! I highly recommend that you do!! ***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

The Laird's Willful Lass is the first book in a new series, The Likely Lairds by Anna Campbell. It was fantastic and I honestly couldn’t put it down! Marina Lucchetti is a successful artist from Florence, Italy who has been commissioned to paint the Highlands. While traveling with her father they have a carriage accident and that’s when they meet up with our hero, Fergus Mackinnon who is Laird of Achnasheen. Marina’s father’s injury from the carriage accident has them stranded at the castle for several weeks.... I absolutely love Marina. She’s a strong, independent and successful woman for the time. Fergus who has been Laird of his clan since he was 9 is use to always having everyone follow his orders without question. Who doesn’t love a handsome arrogant Highlander? ;-) These two together were perfect and the banter between them was entertaining and humorous. There’s an immediate attraction between them from the moment they meet and Anna did a fantastic job of giving us a story to remember! Such a fabulous read from beginning to end! I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next book in this series!

I loved Marina and Fergus's story!! Marina was not your typical society miss and it was a nice change of pace. Having been an artist most of her life, so definitely had an unconventional upbringing. Because of this, she was used to making her own decisions and when meeting Fergus, the Laird of Achnasheen, they butt heads from the very beginning. I loved reading the bantering between the two of them and it had me laughing out loud. This was a great start to a new series by Campbell and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Not up to her usual standards. Florentine artist and her father meet Scottish Laird who immediately asks her to be his mistress.
