4 Stars I purchased the short novella The Lassoed Bride (A Novella): A Western Romantic Comedy (The Texas Two-Step Series Book 3) by Kathy Carmichael and this review was given freely. After six years, self-made millionaire Ben suddenly returns to Barbara's life and feels he may finally be worthy of her only to discover she is to marry someone else. A short and sweet second chance at love story involving the oldest Palmer daughter Barbara just when she has given up on ever finding love. Caring interfering sisters and benefactor Walter make this a lively and drama packed story.

This short novella is certain to please. I read it in no time at all so if you don't have much time to read this one is definitely for you. I really loved it. Jilted years before by Ben, Barbara has never really forgotten him. He left her sitting and waiting at a restaurant for heavens sake! Well, she has finally given in and agreed to marry an old friend who her mother wants her to marry. Her sisters take her to a Dude Ranch for a Bachlorette weekend and guess who is there. Meanwhile her wedding is only a couple of days away--will her match making younger sister manage to get these two together-you will have to read it to find out!!

Ben and Barbara dated several years ago, and Barbara fell for Ben just as he discovered how royal she really was. Ben walked away without a word and continued to build his life. Meanwhile, Barbara has agreed to marry a man she doesn't love because it will be good for her family's business. Her sisters plan a bachelorette weekend for her at a ranch, which happens to be owned by Ben. The two bump into each other again (literally), and rehash their past. But can they have a future? Or will their past destroy their chances? My biggest complaint with this book is that it's a novella. It's a good story, and I feel that it would have benefited from being fleshed out into a full length novel. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

When Ben and Barbara meet, I swear you could feel the stars align. They were raised up in two polar opposite manners but they fulfill each other in ways that it seems like no one else can. Just when you fall into the story and love between the pair, Ben disappears and as most people could imagine, you'd want to strangle him for not being the man you thought he was. They were young but you longed for them to be "THAT" couple who made it. I love how Abby's sister intervenes - not knowing that she's taking Barbara back in time to meet her long-lost love, Ben. Abby has no clue that it's the man her sister once loved so I love how fate used her in the plan. Fate often brings us back to the unfinished things in life and it's up to us whether we offer second chances or put what once was to rest for good. Sweet short "novella"! I loved the story and the true and sincere emotions. The sense of family supporting one another is a nice bonus, too. It definitely makes you want to read other books in the series to get to know the stories that will be created for other members of the family.

While a quick read, this is the perfect fit between books one and three of the series. Going back to when Ben first met Barbara in college, the book quickly catches up to Barbara about to be married but not to Ben. What happens next is anyone's guess but is definitely worth the reading time.

Very Nice Novella Quick read and makes you want to read more in the series so you get to know more characters. Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ben and Barbara met in college and were an instant couple. Then one night, Ben broke it off without so much as an explanation, nor a goodbye. Now six years later, Barb’s bachelorette weekend that her sister secretly put together, just happens to be at Ben’s dude ranch. Even though sparks fly for them both, Barb is still carrying the pain from their past. Realizing that she never moved on, Barb decides it’s time to get the answers she was denied so many years ago. I can sympathize. It’s hard to move on and forget when you don’t have a reason for why something happened. I loved the story, just felt like it could use a bit more detailing, and less rushed feeling. That would have helped me to connect with the characters more.

Note: I received a complimentary copy for an honest review. Ben O'Shea is a hard working cowboy who has worked for what he has from the ground up. He owes a lot to his mentor, Walter, but life has not always been easy. Barbara Palmer comes from royalty, but she doesn't want people to be nice to her just because she's wealthy. She wants people to like her for who she is. She also thinks that attention should be given to others who deserve it, even if they are not as privileged. The story opens when they were each in college and they quickly grow close to each other. However, just when Barb thinks she's found the man for her, he disappears. Fast forward 6 years and Barb is on the verge of marrying someone else. Abby, her youngest sister fears she's making a mistake and makes plans for her to meet a cowboy, not realizing that it's Ben. What follows is a tender story of love found, lost, and found again with second chances. Will Ben step up and claim Barb as his love? What will Barb do about the upcoming wedding? Will Abby be successful in her plans to make everyone happy? The story is novella length, so the character development is basic, but sufficient to understand and stay interested in the plotline. It will appeal to those seeking something fresh and entertaining without much conflict. I find it stress relieving to read these type of stories because they aren't long and they are light hearted. Appropriate for all ages. Nothing offensive. My rating - 5 stars
