The Last McKenzie tells the gripping story of attorney Jack Mitchell as he risks everything to protect the rights of an unborn child, the last descendent of the fabulously wealthy McKenzie family of Chicago. About the Author

Kirk spent five years living in Chicago, graduating from law school and working at one of the big, sweat-shop law firms for which big-city legal circles are justly famous. With a young family, he decided that life at the big firm was not worth the paycheck. He took his family and moved to northwest Ohio where he spent the next several years at banks and a law firm, specializing in estate planning and trust administration. He became an expert in how property is passed from one generation to the next – and the drama that can come with it.

After several years in that business, Kirk picked up his pen and started writing The Last McKenzie, many parts of which are based on Kirk’s actual experiences. The Last McKenzie is Kirk’s first completed novel.

Yep, I really enjoyed this book! Having known Kirk since he was a little boy, I was curious as to how a book by him would turn out - and I was very pleasantly surprised! I am looking forward to reading the next one and seeing what he does with the characters! Any legal-eeze in the book was very well explained in plain ole English, so I never felt that I needed a law degree to read and enjoy this book! I was a tiny disappointed in the disposal of the "bad guy", but other than that, I would highly recommend this book to anyone!

I could not put this book down. The characters are realistic and complex, the plot is very well organized and suspenseful and I found myself completely absorbed in it. Chicago's financial and legal world is the perfect setting for this riveting tale of family, ethics and loss. If you like Harlan Coben's Martin Bolitaire series, you'll love Kirk Ross's easy Chicago style.
