When all the gods had become one and all the living things had become what would be;
The Lord God came to earth to choose a companion.
God came first to Tree. Tree asked, "Who are you?"
The Lord answered, "I am Creator."
"Are you dirt, or rain or sun?" "I am more."
"I do not need more."
So Creator went to Bear.
Bear asked, "Who are you?"
Creator answered, "I am provider."
"I am my own provider."
"I am Protector," said Provider.
Then Bear went to his tree, and reached up as high as he could and cut the bark with his claws.
"There are no scratches higher than mine," roared Bear.
"I need no protector."
"Who am I?" asked Protector
"I can't see you, or smell you,
I can only hear you; you are The Wind"
