From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Horribly Sunny Mystery, The Librarian's Vampire Assistant.

Who killed Michael Vanderhorst's maker? It's a darn good question. But when the trail brings Michael to hellishly sunny Phoenix, Arizona, his biggest problem soon becomes a cute little librarian he can't seem to stay away from. He's never met a bigger danger magnet! Even her book cart has it out for her. And is that the drug cartel following her around, too? "Dear God, woman! What have you gotten yourself into?"

Things go from bad to worse when local vampires won't play nice.

Can this four-hundred-year-old vampire keep his librarian safe and himself out of hot water? Can he bring his maker's killer to justice? Yesterday, he would've said yes. But yesterday, he didn't have a strange connection with a librarian. Yesterday, people weren't trying to kill her.

As always, I laughed out loud. I can not wait to see what Nice does to get Mimi to write more. I've enjoyed all of her other books and I am looking forward to see what Michael and Miriam do in the future. Mimi keep up the good work! I look forward to more by an amazing author.

While we expect unicorns, crazy gods and plot twist, what we get this time is more. The characters of Micheal and Miriam have a new sense of depth of character pulling you in and making you want more. I love Mr Nice and his comment about Michael and his choice of books. Can't wait for Fanged Love.

Great characters and laugh out loud humor are part and parcel of Ms. Pamiloff’s writing and this book delivered. The fact that I hate delayed gratification with regard to a love story is not her fault. It was great fun, has a lovely mystery and a potential romance. Read it folks!

Best story I've read in a while! I read 4 or 5 books a week and find it difficult to find different plots. Love Mimi Jean's writing and her characters are to die for?!

What a great little mystery and suspense story. With a nice hint of romance, I can't wait to read the next one to see where Mimi takes these two characters.

I was sucked in to this book by the ad of the guy doing chin ups on Facebook, and I’m glad it did! I love Michael and can’t wait to see what happens to him next. I’ve already told several friends they need to read this. Great story, love the mystery, and love to see if Micheal and Miriam will ever get together!

The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant is book one in the brand new series, The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant, by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Where oh where do I start with this book? First, I want to say I LOVED it. It’s so different than anything she has written before. But this shouldn’t be a surprise because every new series by this author is a whole new experience. This first book is not a romance, but there are hints that a romance could develop in future books. That is what I am hoping for anyway. This is a mystery, an adventure, and a whole lot of fun! Michael Vanderhorst is a vampire, he has been for hundreds of years. He has come to Phoenix, Arizona to collect the remains of his beloved maker. Michael doesn’t feel love like humans do, but he feels loyalty and respect, both which he feels for his maker. He was patient with Michael during the early years and taught him how to be a good man, to make a difference. His maker’s death was not an accident, and Michael wants to know the status of the investigation. One thing he certainly hadn’t planned on is crossing paths with the frumpy little librarian, Miriam Murphy, who seems like she is a magnet for mishaps. Something about her seems to call to him and he can’t understand why. And why does the local crime family seem to be after her? There seems to be a lot more to this little librarian than meets the eye! Things just seem to go from bad to worse. The vampire that is in charge over this area doesn’t seem to be honest regarding the investigation into his maker’s death. And his little librarian is attacked! What in the world is going on here? Michael always adheres to the rules, it’s how he was taught. But he finds himself breaking one rule after another. Keeping his librarian safe and investigating the murder proves too much for one person. He’s going to need to call in reinforcements. Michael has had eight careers over his four hundred years. Who would have ever thought that he would be working as a lowly Librariann’s assistant in this god-forsaken sunny city! He just wants to find his maker’s murderer and go home. But will he really be able to leave his librarian? One word that comes to mind with this book is “cheeky.” It has what I would classify as tongue in cheek humor. I don’t know whether it was a little bit shorter in length or whether I was just turning the pages extra fast because I was enjoying it so much. I loved Michael and I believe he came to a few personal revelations in this book. I loved Miriam as well. She has a lot more spunk than you think in the beginning. I also loved Lula, Michael’s assistant from home. Although I felt kind of bad for her. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for what adventure awaits Michael and Miriam in the next book. And fingers crossed that the future holds a little smexy romance for these two! Thanks as always to Mimi Jean for continuing to keep me entertained.

I am such a huge fan of the writings of Mimi! This book is just as amazing! Lol...totally love Lula! I feel so much for her! Micheal is such a torn and broody vampire! Going through so much and even I didn't see everything he was going to face. While not really getting to know too much about Miriam; I look forward to seeing her come into her own and give Micheal a good round! Thank you Mimi for another great adventure!

What do you get when you mix Mimi Jean Pamfilhoff, vampires, and murder mystery? You get a wonderful mix of fun, suspense, possible romance, and the quirky brilliance we've come to love so much about me Mimi Jean's writing style. This book left me eagerly anticipating the next of the series, hoping for a Michael of my very own, and with a mean craving for Aloo and Naan.

Like everyone of Mimi’s book, regardless of actual length, it’s too short and never enough. My family has figured out that when I spontaneously almost pee myself laughing, I must be reading one of her books. The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant promises to be the start of yet another engaging series. I love that not a single one of Mimi’s characters fall into a “type” and are all gloriously imperfect. I highly recommend this and all of her other books.

What happens when your not so average romance writer dips her toe into the mystery genre? You get a Vampire stuck in one of the sunniest cities you can imagine trying to solve a mystery all while trying to navigate around a little librarian who may or may not be very distracting. Basically you get PURE GENIUS. Michael Vanderhorst is having a really bad couple of days. Someone killed his maker and no one in the hellishly sunny city of Phoenix, Arizona is lifting a finger to find out who. Michael is a 400 year old vampire, a gentleman and without time for the softer emotions. His current plan visit the offices of The Arizona Society of Sunshine Love aka the local vampire coven, collect the remains of his maker and hopefully find out what happened. Unfortunately for him nothing can be that easy. Suddenly he’s interviewing with the local librarian for the assistant librarian position, and planning to stay indefinitely. If the local vampires wont find out what happened to his maker he will, even if he has to break a few rules to do it. Michael’s interactions and internal monologues are exceptionally entertaining. He just wants to be that stodgy old vampire who doesn’t haven’t go beyond being a courteous gentleman, yet every time he turns around someone is ruining that for him. Miriam the local librarian is soft spoken, a little defiant and strong willed although an extreme danger magnet. And Lula, Michael’s assistant is snarky, sassy, a little vulnerable, and one I hope to see much more of in future books. Mimi has very successfully moved into the Mystery genre with this book. It was witty, entertaining and I laughed out loud multiple times.
