Saint Pisentius was the celebrated Coptic bishop and spiritual writer before the Arab invasion to Egypt. He became a monk at an early age and showed a great zeal in his spiritual life and for the knowledge and memorisation of books of the Bible. He was later ordained the bishop of Qift in Upper Egypt. His feast is celebrated on the 13th day of the month of Abib.
