Written with rugged complexity, "The Lightkeepers" is haunting and captivating. The style is both eloquent and real, and can be attributed to a truly great author. The plot develops similarly to the mist and fog of the book's island setting: unexpectedly, mysteriously, and beautifully. The details and descriptions were magnificent, and the stunning depiction of the natural world and its objectiveness is displayed thoughtfully throughout the novel. It was a wonderful and compelling read that left me with a sense of breathlessness. The truth within its pages was both dangerous and exhilarating. I applaud the penmanship and would love to see more of this eerie and daunting style. I recommend this novel with the expectation that it will engross others as it has engrossed me in its splendid pages.

This book grabbed me at the prologue and did not let me go until the epilogue! I loved everything about this book --- the story, the mystery, the atmosphere, the writing, the structure, and even the science.
