About the Author

Husband of Pamela Rogenski, father, and grandfather, Chet Rogenski was his wife's primary caregiver throughout her long illness. His knowledge of caregiving is attributed to Pam's doctors, caregivers, hospice nurses, friends, and family experiences. The author's training as an engineer gives him an inherent ability to problem-solve and plan for the unexpected. Throughout his professional background, his focus was on continuous improvement as an industrial engineer, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College teaching manufacturing courses. This training and experience has carried over into his private life and specifically in his devoted, loving care for his wife, always finding ways to make his wife's quality of life through this journey more enduring. The author's deep faith has been a major part of his ability to endure as well. The author gives us deep insights in preparation for each stage of the illness even while being thrown curve balls. What unfolds is a journey of trial and error, struggles, pain, and sorrow, yet moments of sheer joy.
