The international bestseller that brought Trump's long history of racism, mafia ties, and shady business dealings into the limelight. Now with a New Introduction and Epilogue.
Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist David Cay Johnston, who had spent thirty years chronicling Donald Trump for the New York Times and other leading newspapers, takes readers from the origins of the Trump family fortune—his grandfather's Yukon bordellos during the Gold Rush—to his tumultuous gambling and real estate dealings in New York and Atlantic City, all the way to his election as president of the United States, giving us a deeply researched and shockingly full picture of one of the most controversial figures of our time.

This book is good, however I was not surprised to read all the shananagins he has been involved in. Trump is all about himself. This election is no different. He wants to win for the sake of winning not for " making America great again." How can someone who wants to be President of the United States speak so negatively about races of people who make up such a large percent of the american population? I am a white woman and I find him very offensive. The America he wants to go back to will never exist again. How can it? Too much has changed. Our ideologies on everything has changed too. His supporters say he represents change. He CAN'T change all he wants. This is a democracy NOT a dictatorship. He speaks on very complex issues/problems almost child-like. I recommend reading this book, I don't think it will change people's opinion of him. If you can't stand him, you will not be surprised. If you like him you will probably excuse all he has done or just not believe it.
Excellent well documented book with evidence taken from the concurrent time of the events.
An important contribution to understanding the Republican Presidential candidate. With all the conflicting information out there, I found this book indispensable. Very clear and easy to read. I highly recommend it.
Excellent account of crooked President Donald J. Trump prior to his election. Unfortunately, the United States is being laughed at, criticized, questioned and mocked by the rest of the world because Trump is not qualified for the office. Before you vote again for any politician, read this book; remember that our country now has to fight to protect all the rights we won years ago. Trump must be removed from office.
Hell of a book. If you've followed the news with even a passing interest, this is the book for you—because it's just the facts. Johnston relates the shocking truth of Trump's rise to prominence with the sober and well-tuned approach of a seasoned journalist. Required reading for any politically engaged reader.
It's an eye opener well worth reading
I bought this book after seeing the author do an interview on R Maddow show, thinking this book would prove exceptionally informative on Donald Trump's criminal history. The book provides some insight into criminal associations, but exposes very little new information. Overall I was disappointed with the information exposed... again, very little factual information that is not currently available. The author has a similar self image to the character traits he criticizes in Trump. The casino information was more ..detailed than what I had previously known, but I was expecting a much more complete analysis of past and current financial criminality.
I wish I read it sooner. Very informative and the writing explains a great deal about our President.
I agree with u i hate donald trump he is stupid and kind of dumb
