The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle

Everyone has secrets…

Iris and Will have been married for seven years, and life is as close to perfect as it can be. But on the morning Will flies out for a business trip to Florida, Iris’s happy world comes to an abrupt halt: another plane headed for Seattle has crashed into a field, killing everyone on board and, according to the airline, Will was one of the passengers.

Grief-stricken and confused, Iris is convinced it must all be a huge misunderstanding. Why did Will lie about where he was going? And what else has he lied about? As Iris sets off on a desperate quest to uncover what her husband was keeping from her, the answers she finds shock her to her very core.

Fast, entertaining read, although I was able to figure out how it was going to end well before the end of the book. Couldn’t beat the price at 99 centss.

A wonderful written srory. Did not want to put it down. The characters are so well written. Do we really know the people around us? How do we know it is the true them? Iris is finding out just how hard these questions are to answer. A great Book Club read

Twisting, turning, never know what to expect. Enjoyed the book, quick read; however, the last few chapters had me bored and waiting for it to just be over. Could have put more twists and turns to keep you guessing, suspense was gone. Somewhat predictable ending. I'm not a fan of authors referencing current trends in their stories because in 50 years, people reading this book won't know Siri, CNN, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Will definitely read more from this author.

Incredible! I wish I could add five more stars to my rating! This story grabs the reader from the first page, and it will not let go until the end. Ms. Belle has created a down to earth, likeable woman. She is intelligent, sensible, in the end does what she has to do. Iris and Will have a perfect marriage, almost too wonderful. It is shocking to read what her husband has done, how he tries to redeem himself, and all along Iris maintains dignity. I'd love to know what the future is for Iris here, but I think a second book would not be a good enough story. This could definitely be made into a motion picture.

First off, I'm happy with the ending. I found it to be the most believable. This book was an entertaining read full of twists. Iris comes off as a bit too perfect for my liking though, seems like a perfect ten, where men fall all over themselves around her.

Iris and Will have been married for seven years in Atlanta. Will flies out to Orlando to attend a conference and Iris thinks nothing of it, until she gets a phone call that says he was on a flight to Seattle and the plane crashed. Heartbroken and wanting to deny it, Iris finally has to face facts that her marriage was not as perfect as she though it was. So, with the help of her brother, Iris starts digging into Will’s past. Like many other contemporary stories out there, we have the perfect couple that has the perfect life until something happens to one of them and the other has to discover that things are not as perfect as they seemed. Of course Iris is heartbroken and questioning herself and wrapped up in her emotions. I am sorry, but it seems like most contemporary romance stories like this all have the same pattern. But I will admit that the ending really threw me off, I was not expecting that. That kicked this book up higher than I was thinking. It’s a great book and I think if you were into stories that have this plot line you will really enjoy this book. I received The Marriage Lie from the publisher for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.

In my opinion, I did not like the novel at all. It was repetitive and in every single chapter, the main character, Iris always makes a point to repeat the same thing about her husband and how nauseated she is and threatens to get sick all the time. I will not read another book by this author.
