True Love Jackie is back to Cherry Lake after running away pregnant 18. Brett would have married her to help her out but she got sacred. Now 10 years later is back doing a job and has her daughter with her, and has to deal with her awful ex step-dad.

Jackie had a hard childhood because her mother always sided with her step-father who treated her badly. So she doesn't want a man to come between her and her daughter. A nice story showing how things in your life can change you. Strong characters made this story believable. Wil read more from this author. joy943

Jacie was a bit annoying in avoiding a relationship to focus on her daughter, Darby was a bit to manipulative for a 10 year old, and Brett was too good to be true but not a bad story overall

The story line was good but needed more fleshing out. Too short - luckily it was free.

Jacie returns to Montana with her daughter and runs into her almost groom Brent. These two must come to an understanding to join their futures together. Enjoyed the characters and setting. Looking forward to reading more in this series. Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

"The Secret Bride" by Jeannie Watt is book five in the "Cherry Lake Montana" series. This can be read as a standalone. This is Jacie Rose and Brett Jackson's story. Ten years ago Brett had agreed to marry Jacie to help her out with a problem. Jacie didn't show and disappeared. Brett has never forgotten her. Now, Jacie is back in Cherry Lake with her daughter to renovate a historic hotel plus deal with some unfinished business. Jacie and Brett cross paths after ten long years. As they get reacquainted one thing for sure is there is no lack of chemistry between them. Jacie is determined to give her daughter a secure home life that she didn't have. So, there is no room for a man in her life or is there? I really enjoyed the story. At times I did get frustrated with Jacie being so afraid to take a chance on love. I loved Brett's character. He was fun, romantic, and loving. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.

When Jacie is asked to head up the Montreau Hotel renovation, she can’t resist! As the head engineer, this could be her big break. But when Jacie and her daughter Darby move into the place her friend Carrie found for her, she realizes she is right across the street from Brett. Who happens to be the one person she was not looking forward to seeing. Ten years ago, she left him at the court house alter. And she was the one who proposed to him. On top of it all, she is supposed to deal with Clinton, her ex-stepfather, in regards to renovations, Jacie is regretting she took the job at all. Book #5 from the Cherry Lake series, each story has gotten even better than the last! I absolutely loved this story!! The characters were fabulous, with exception of Clinton of course but he was the guy you loved to hate. I loved the little precocious Darby, a sweet little soul who knew what a great dad Brett would be. Kids are quite intuitive! I highly recommend reading this series!!
