The Neverending Hunt (Yr Helfa Diddiwedd): The Legend of the Herlethingi

For centuries, the haunting Herlethingi have roamed throughout Britain. Some say they are not real, but this is the story of how it all began with a king's mistake.

Children will be captivated by this retelling of a folktale about how a king's visit to Elfland led his men to become an army of undead mounted vagrants. Although it begins with a simplified excerpt from a spooky historical text, the majority of the story is more mysterious than frightening.

As the Welsh language continues to grow in popularity with the young generation, this bilingual reader will provide children with a legend they can share with all their friends.

#544 in the Bilingual Legends series. This book is in both English and Welsh.

About the Author

As an Australian poet, it's hard to find work in the Outback. But there are children all over the world struggling to learn how to read. Some of them have hardly any books in their native language. That's why I created the Bilingual Legends series - to give as many children as possible the opportunity to read a story in their own native language. Usually, the language each book in the series is published in will be one that's spoken in the land where that story originates. A typical book also includes the text in English, but in some cases another language is employed instead. I hope you enjoy reading my books!
