The book opens with the narrator's early childhood and the impact the narrator's parents divorce had on the narrator as a youth. It chronicles the struggles the narrator faced as he was bullied. It continues through the narrator's teen years as he changed from a bullied kid to an athlete and the downfall that follows the end of high school. The book continues as the narrator losses faith in God into his early adulthood.
