In 2008 he divorced his long time wife of 22 years which affected him emotionally and paused his studies for a whole semester which delayed his graduation, but at the same time inspired him to pursue his writing career. After graduating from law school he returned to New York City and took some workshop courses in Gotham school and once again was greatly motivated by his teacher who was an author and teacher at Presbyterian University. Since all the students had to write a short story to be analyzed in class, his teacher was fascinated with his story and style of narrating it, she strongly recommended him to pursue the writing career.
