The Pecker Briefs (Legal Affairs Series #7) by Sawyer Bennett

I never thought a pecker would get me in so much trouble.

I mean, sure... if you're talking about a certain anatomical feature of mine that the ladies just love. Given my bachelor status and appreciation for all things curvy and feminine, I could absolutely see that. But a different pecker is making my life much harder than it needs to be.

My name is Ford Daniels, partner at the law firm of Knight & Payne, and my latest case has me wading through the finer points of peckers--woodpeckers that is. Specifically, the red-cockaded woodpecker. I swear, I can't make this stuff up but that's what the sexy-as-hell blonde chained to a tree told me this morning.

Her name is Viveka Jones and she is so much more than a pretty face. She's got wit, charm, and razor-sharp smarts. Turns out my client is looking to bulldoze the red-cockaded woodpecker's natural habitat in favor of a multimillion-dollar subdivision and the sexy attorney with legs for days (and days), just happens to be counsel for an animal rights group looking to put a halt to construction.

My client's pissed, but all I can think about is getting Viveka across the table from me. And then on the table underneath me. Perhaps up against the wall. And then--

Well, let's just say when it's all said and done, I'm hoping the red-cockaded woodpecker isn't the only pecker that gets some attention from Miss Viveka Jones.

Sawyer Bennett is one of my go to authors and I was thrilled to be back with the gang from the Legal Affairs Series, in saying that this book can certainly be read as a stand-alone. Ford an attorney for Knight & Payne, he has it all,he is very successful, hot, smart, confident and he doesn’t like to lose in both business and his personal life. Viveka is also an attorney but at the opposite end of the scale to Ford most of her work is done pro bono and it’s normally fighting for animal rights and the underdog so it’s no surprise that her first meeting with Ford finds her tied to a tree on a site that his client is demolishing, threading court action to protect the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker who she claims is nesting in the trees on the site..... I loved both Ford and Viveka because they both turn out to be sweet and caring, as they get to know each and feelings come into play we see another side to Ford the side that will put his job and his life on the line for the woman he loves. This book is hot, funny, romantic and the banter will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat. If you are looking for a fun read this is a must click.

You have to admit with a title like this you know there’s going to be a little bit of humor in this book. It was also very hot Ford and Viveka are Opposing attorneys on a case that involves woodpeckers LOL. The chemistry between these two characters is hot. I appreciate it that this couple is an older couple and they knew what they want it. When they decide that they wanted to keep their personal life separate from the business that was also fun to watch them actually do that. I found Viveka to be natural and although she wasn’t sure where she stood with Ford at times, she decided to enjoy it however long things were good

4.5 star Review The Pecker Briefs (Legal Affairs #7) by Sawyer Bennett This has always been a favourite series of mine and it was great to get back into the Legal Affairs series, one of Sawyer Bennett's most popular series. There were equal parts of humour and smoking hot scenes throughout this book. To be honest, just the title The Pecker Briefs had me in intrigued. . This is partner of Knight & Payne law firm, Ford Daniel’s story. He is a smart, confident and totally swoon-worthy man who does not like to lose a case. When Ford’s client looks to bulldoze a woodpecker’s natural habitat so that he can build a multimillion-dollar subdivision, Ford is brought into contact with Viveka (Veka) Jones, the smart, sexy and feisty lawyer who is representing an animal rights group totally opposed to the development. Turning up to the site he is shocked to find Viveka chained to a tree demanding that work immediately stop.Honestly the chemistry is so hot that it almost explodes and neither Ford or Viveka can deny what is so obviously sizzling between them. Ford and Veka come to realise that regardless of the case, they are meant to be together. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and as I have come to expect from Sawyer Bennett I find the writing to be of an extremely high standard and she had me totally engrossed from the first to the last chapter.

Here's what I love about Sawyer Bennet. She is such a diverse and talented writer. She can literally write anything. Her styles of books are very broad, but every single time I'm left feeling satisfied with what I read. While she rarely runs me through the whole gauntlet of feels in one story, her books always stand out in my memories for one reason or another. Looking for a book that a little bit unconventional, so hot it's going to melt your reading device, yet still has an amazing story? Wicked Horse. Looking for something that's going to leave you sobbing on the floor? The Truth About Sunshine. How about something filled with witty humor, relatable characters that's booth sexy and swoon worthy and just all around engaging and entertaining? The Legal Briefs Series. I just can't get enough of this series. And I truly hope it's not over yet! Moral of the story? I've never met a book from this author that I didn't like. Viveka and Ford are opposing counsel. Ford is immediately drawn to Viveka's beauty and personality. Things escalate rather quickly between them and that's alright with me! While these two get down to the sexy business right quick, the emotional component doesn't take long to catch up. I also loved playing catch up with Reeve and Leary, so I really hope there is more to come from this series, so I can catch up with Viveka and Ford again as well.

The Pecker Briefs by Sawyer Bennett is a fun, smart and sensual romance. Ford Daniels is a high powered attorney, successful and charging hundreds of dollars per hour. He is always dedicated to any woman he is with, but he never stays for long. When he meet Viveka Jones his interest is peeked. After all the hot Swedish lawyer is chained to a tree. Viveka is the flip side to Ford's high priced lawyer, an animal rights attorney with a lot of pro-bono work under her belt. What they both have in common, other than law degrees, is their attraction to each other. Even if they are opposing attorneys on the case. Ms. Bennett brings us complex characters in both Ford and Viveka with detail histories and stories that we are given throughout. Their instant connection is undeniable but the deeper one that connects them grows quickly into something special. I liked how we got not only such rich characters with sensual scenes, but also a very complete world with best friends who care for them and a rich legalese woven in. Overall I enjoyed The Pecker Briefs by Sawyer Bennett so much that I, almost, wanted to become a lawyer, for a minute. The whole novel was steamy from start to finish with increasingly complex characters that you want to connect with. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free from the publisher in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Ford Daniels, a high profile attorney in an upscale law firm, is called to a construction site to help solve an issue. Upon arrival, Ford discovers a beautiful woman chained to a tree and a very upset client. It seems as though an injunction has been signed to halt construction to save the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Hence, the reason behind the woman chained to the tree. Ford's client, a sexist jerk, is beyond livid as every day he doesn't build equates to a huge loss of money. Viveka Jones, former model turned animal rights attorney, has dedicated her life to animals after seeing one beaten by its owner. Viveka often takes cases pro-bono or uses money she's saved from her days as a model to finance her cases. Thus, barely making enough money to pay the bills. She lives simply and enjoys what she does. As long as she has her best friend and doesn't have to see her mom too often, she's happy. After meeting Ford, she begins to wonder if her long suppressed dreams of "happily ever after" could come true.... I absolutely loved this novel! There are very few books that I read in one sitting, but this was one of them. Ford and Viveka's ability to put their competitiveness aside for the possibility of love was HUGE. This is the first novel I've read in the Legal Affairs series. While I didn't feel as though I was "lost" or needed more background information, I can't wait to go back to read Reeve and Leary's story! I enjoyed Viveka's witty banter, strength, gusto, and love. I also enjoyed Ford's experienced a Lamaze class. That was laugh out loud funny! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

I wasn't totally sure just what I was getting when I picked up this one by the always entertaining Sawyer Bennett! However with a tongue in cheek title like this who can resist??!! I have read a lot of this authors series but I was a bit concerned since I haven't yet read the Legal Affairs series - although they are sitting in my TBR pile - however if you are in the same boat, fear not - you DO NOT have to have read the others to thoroughly enjoy this one. Right from the start this book pulls you into the fun and witty banter - with high sexual tension as well. There is no angst or drama in this book and it made for an easy, engaging and highly entertaining read. Don't hesitate to pick this one up!

Having never read a book in the Legal Affairs series, I was quite surprised at the depth of the non-main characters. Obviously, this book is about Ford and Viveka. However, I felt like I knew Leary, Reeve and Midge as well as Frannie just from reading this book. I love that Ford wants to stand up and help/defend V, but she is not a helpless female. I love her strength and determination even when battling with Ford. Even though they are skirting ethical boundaries, they act aboveboard at all costs in public. I think the biggest surprise for me was Midge. I love that lady. She is priceless in this story. She just walks into Fords office knowing V and Ford are behind closed doors with the glass frosted. She knows something is going on between them, but she quietly supports it, knowing ethically it shouldn't be happening. Then when she calls Ford and asks if V is with him and their laying naked in bed. The reader knows she knows what they've been doing. But the whopper was when she told them that she told Drake Powell, the land developer, that she was remapping the subdivision to protect the woodpecker. After everything he did to win the case he had to be having a coronary after that conversation. I wish we had seen his reaction. Anyway, this was a good book and very enjoyable. A definite 4.5 star read. Now, I need to go back and read the other books in the series.

**Received ARC for a fair and honest review** The Pecker Briefs is the 7th book in the Legal Affairs series. This book can be read as a standalone. This book is a fun, sweet, fast read. Viveka Jones grew up as a model, when she got tired of her mom living vicariously through her, spending all her money she went through proper legal channels to become an emancipated minor. But she had more aspirations and put herself through school and law school and became an attorney. Now she's an animal defense attorney, and while it doesn't pay well she is happy. When she's asked to take on a case about the red cockaded woodpeckers that are on the endangered species list and a big construction company wants to level trees that there are nests in Viveka will not stop until they are saved. Ford Daniels works for Knight & Payne law firm, and is a hot shot attorney for them. When he gets a call from his client about land he's trying to excavate, the last thing he expects to find is a gorgeous female attorney chained to a tree, and now his opposing counsel. I really enjoyed both characters tremendously. Viveka was smart, beautiful, down to earth, strong and Ford was smart, good looking, strong, alpha and caring. They had great chemistry, and watching their relationship evolve was a lot of fun. The storyline was fun, sweet, hot and steamy. I really enjoyed the secondary characters, loved seeing Leary and Viveka develop a friendship. I lived in NC for 7 years and on Ft Bragg there is a lot of protected land for the red cockaded woodpeckers. I've been there, as I was stationed there. I loved having that bit of fact in the story. Also gave the story some credibility and got me deeper involved in it. Overall loved the story. Can't wait for the next book in the series! Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

This is Book 7 in the "Legal Affairs" Serie by Sawyer Bennett. No matter what this author writes, I always enjoy her stories and characters and this book is no exception. Viveka and Ford are great characters. They seem to be absolutely opposites but they have a lot in common. They are both strong, dynamic, good in what they do and successful in their own ways. The chemistry between them is amazing and the love scenes are fabulous! The book is entertaining and very fun to read!

Ford Daniels has deserved his own book for awhile now - we have met him before in the Legal Affairs series and the spin-off book Friction, he is Leary's BFF. Now in the spotlight we get to spend time with Ford, meet Viveka and understand why the red-cockaded woodpecker is so important. Ford a confirmed bachelor is doing what he loves in and out of the courtroom. While his friends are settling down Ford is perfectly fine living his life the way he chooses. That is until he meets the beautiful, sexy and smart Viveka Jones - now he is realizing that the single life may need to go. The problem is that Viveka is the opposing counsel in a multimillion-dollar land dispute, all because of an endangered woodpecker. Viveka Jones isnt look for romance - she just wants to save the animals in her way as an animal rights attorney. As she is chained to a tree and sees Ford for the first time she starts to rethink the no romance rule. Two mature adults can learn to separate work from personal, right? I absolutely loved Ford in Sawyer Bennett's other Legal Affair books - he is sexy, knows what he wants and mature. I also love that Ms Bennett made him in his 40's. Viveka is just as good as a character, she also knows what she wants and is not your typical heroine, she doesnt need saving or a man to define her. The story is fun, witty, filled with romance and even a little danger. We also get to see Leary, Reeve, and Midge (love Midge) again which is fantastic. I love the different degrees of Ms Bennett we get in her story's and while this is book is hot it does leave some of it to the imagination, Ms Bennett is such a strong storyteller she knows in which books her readers are looking for threesomes (The Wicked Horse series), moderate heat (Legal Affairs) and the just plain romance. It is one of the many reasons I love her. All in all, I highly recommend The Pecker Briefs - so worth the time.

Sexy, Charming & Swoonworthy! Flawless from start to finish, with smart, witty, dialog, the perfect amount of sweet and charming moments as well as sizzling chemistry and breath-holding sex scenes. Everything about the storyline and the characters captivated me. Ford and Viveka are delicious together. Between how charming these two are together and wanting to swoon forever as Ford transforms from his Playboy ways, into a open caring man, I was in book heaven. Every moment spent with these characters was an ultimate pleasure. Filled with laugh out loud moments, belly flutters, and electric sparks zapping me as I read. I was a goner, charmed beyond words. Sawyer Bennett sure knows how to capture and secure the heart of her readers. There is such beauty and charm, in this Flawless, Delicious Romance. I can’t recommend this enough. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. And all thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 Stars This is book 7 in the Legal Affairs series and gives us more of Ford Daniels. You could read this one as a standalone but why would you. If you do that you would miss all the fun and sexiness that is the Legal Affairs. Ford Daniels is one of the hottest, in more ways than one, lawyers around. Working for Knight and Payne he is well known too. When he is called out to some land for one of his clients, he can't believe what he finds. A woman has chained herself to a tree. Not just any woman, this woman seems to hit all of Ford's buttons, and he wants to learn more about her. Viveka Jones is an animal rights lawyer and she is trying to save the red-cockaded woodpecker’s natural habitat by chaining herself to a tree. When the sexy man is a high dollar suit walks towards her, she knows it's Ford Daniels. He seems to be making all of her lady parts come alive. While Ford and Viveka are on opposite sides of the Pecker Briefs (what Viveka calls this hearing) they are getting closer personally and they can't stay away from each- other. Which might seem unethical but when Ford's boss doesn't seem to care and tells them to not worry about it, they continue to see each other outside of the courtroom. Will Ford grow tired of Viveka as he has done in the past while dating? Can Viveka and Ford make a relationship work without letting the court case ruin everything? Can there be a future for them? Will Leary have her baby soon? This story is fun, sexy and so easy to read you will not want to put it down. I recommend this one and the whole series because each couple is worth the read, so pick it up and enjoy, I loved Ford and Viveka. **Copy provided by the author and this is my honest review**

This was the first book from the Legal Affairs series that I have read and not having read the previous books from this series, did not spoil my reading experience in the slightest so I can say that this book can definitely be read on a stand alone basis. I have to say, I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, sexy story that I was hooked on right from the start. I actually couldn't put it down and ended up reading this in one sitting. I loved the main characters, who had great chemistry and really sizzled up the pages, but what I liked most, was that this story covered a couple in their mid thirties, so they know themselves and there was no needless, messing around, this couple were open and honest and went for what they want. My only grumble was that I would have liked a little more of an extended ending, but all in all, this was a nice easy book that I really enjoyed and would happily recommend. I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher; there was no inducement or obligation and I opted to leave a review.

4.5 stars-engaging, captivating sensual 4.5 stars-- THE PECKER BRIEFS is the seventh instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary adult LEGAL AFFAIRS erotic, romance series. This is opposing attorneys forty-three year old Ford Daniels, and thirty-six year old Viveka Jones’ story line. THE PECKER BRIEFS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (Ford and Viveka) THE PECKER BRIEFS follows the building relationship between opposing counsels, attorneys Ford Daniels and Viveka Jones. As an animal rights attorney, Viveka has seen her share of animal abuse and chaining herself to a tree meant getting the exposure she hoped she would find in an effort to stop the deforestation in an area home to the red-cockaded woodpecker. What Viveka never expected was to meet the man with whom she would fall in love. Enter attorney Ford Daniels, representing the law firm of Knight & Payne, and her opposing counsel in a hearing to determine the future of the land housing the endangered ‘pecker’. What ensues is the building relationship between Ford and Viveka, and the increasing danger as Viveka is targeted by an unknown source. Viveka Jones never meant to seduce our story line hero but their palpable sexual attraction to one another was evident to everyone including the senior partner at Knight & Payne. A former Swedish model, Viveka’s beauty is a distraction to men including Ford himself, and Ford finds himself pulled towards Viveka for more than a one-night stand. The potential ramifications of an affair between opposing counsels is a constant reminder that anything might possibly go wrong. The relationship between Ford and Viveka is one of immediate attraction; an insta-lust story line that finds our couple in bed within hours of meeting. Ford doesn’t do relationships but meeting Viveka our hero slowly begins to think about a future with the former Swedish model. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense. The use of a certain four-letter word is not applied to the romance aspect of the story line but gives nod to the behaviour and threats against our story line heroine. We are introduced to Viveka’s BFF, beauty salon owner Frannie; Viveka’s mother Tilde Sjogren Wroth, a woman unable to let go of what was; land developer and Landmark Builders owner Drake Powell; Ford’s boss, senior partner Midge Payne; and Ford’s best friend, attorney Leary, and her husband Reeve. Leary, Reeve and Midge were introduced in the book FRICTION (October 2015) We are privy to Viveka’s back story, a heart breaking look at a young woman whose earlier career and success exposes the reality of the fractured mother –daughter dynamics. Rescuing an abused animal from a potential life of suffering and pain, Viveka’s history reveals a colorful past that shaped the woman she was born to be. THE PECKER BRIEFS is a story of power and greed; vengeance and money; lust, love, romance and a happily ever after. The premise is engaging, captivating, and sensual; the romance is energetic, provocative and seductive; the characters are colorful, inspiring, and spirited. THE PECKER BRIEFS is a sassy , sexy and edgy story line you do not want to miss.

This has been a fabulous series, that I was more than excited to see another episode of. Ford Daniels is a successful partner at the law firm, Knight and Payne. We caught a glimpse of him in a previous storyline, (remember him & Leary?!) leaving us with the impression of a self assured, personable, no ties on me type of guy. His latest case finds him visiting a plot his client is keen to flatten in order to pursue his latest exclusive development. That would have gone without opposition until he finds a very attractive female chained to a tree on said plot, pleading them not to demolish the red-cockaded woodpecker’s natural dwelling. Viveka Jones is adamant she’s going to put a halt to this latest construction. Having used her lawyer status in the animal rights arena for some years, this latest cause pulling on those heart strings of hers. What she wasn’t expecting was the added internal combustion she experienced when she met the opposing counsel. Recalled from both characters point of view, Sawyer shows us what she does best in creating whimsical, sassy h’s who are paired with a cocky, smug, partner. Their resultant duels are a joy to behold, feeding our laughter tanks, whilst capturing our emotions. Their cracks were unique, their situations heartfelt, and their development divine. Ford was a hard nut to crack, but boy did I enjoy observing. Complimentary copy received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Sawyer Bennett adds to her entertaining and sexy Legal Affairs series with this provocative title The Pecker Briefs in which we follow magnetic lawyer Ford Daniels and animal rights attorney Viveka Jones who chained herself to a tree in order to save an endangered woodpecker species. Viveka and Ford are opposing counsel in the “Pecker Briefs” but that doesn’t stop them from acting on their attraction. As they spend time together, maturely separating their personal time from the case, they explore the deep connection develops in deliciously sweet, sexy and touching ways that ultimately lead to love. Both Viveka and Ford are charming and compelling characters. Viveka is smart, independent and caring with an inner beauty that matches her model looks. A perpetual bachelor, Ford is a partner at Knight & Payne law firm as is equally smart, funny, and witty. He’s also gorgeous, thoughtful, caring, attentive, successful, in a word, perfect. I truly enjoyed reading about Viveka and Ford. Theirs was a spellbinding tale with a wonderful flow and interesting plot. It was touching and thought provoking. The relationship was well developed, without unnecessary angst or drama, probably due to the central character’s maturity. I read it in a single sitting because it was impossible to put down. Sawyer crafts another sultry contemporary story that showcases her unforgettable wit and charm while turning up the heat in incredible sexy love scenes. A perfect romance you can escape in. The Pecker Briefs is book #7 of the Legal Affairs series by Sawyer Bennett. It is a standalone, contemporary forbidden romance. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Oh my word! A complete feel good romance. Funny, flirty and addictive. I loved Sawyer Bennett’s Legal Affairs series and I was so so excited for this story. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Self confessed bachelor, Ford Daniels, Partner at law firm Payne and Knight comes face to face with his sexiest adversary yet. Viveka Jones is smart, sexy, and she has morals, an animal rights attorney who does a lot of pro bono work, I loved her. I loved their banter, I loved their humour, and I loved that There were no dirty dealings between them in the courtroom just in the bedroom, the chemistry between them was palpable, a perfect couple. Wonderful writing and a wonderful story. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.
