The Political Philosophers of the Enlightenment

So many big thinkers converged on the topic of human nature and politics. One of the big questions was, "Is man good or evil?" The answer impacts rights, laws, and governments. Some nations started with the view that we are evil, and created a nation on this premise. Others did the opposite. Who is right? How did it go? I guess we'll see!
