With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the frontline between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies.

Fate has other plans.

The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn't come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve. Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.

But the gods are sensing a greater threat.

Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that's an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn't Seth's style.

The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.

Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.

And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.

Like any great read, there must be a horrific conflict, eminent danger, untested heroes with untrained powers, and don’t forget raging romantic feelings! Hang on for Jennifer L. Armentrout’s The Power and get ready for chaos, fabulous dialogue, brilliant characters and completely addicting reading! The war between the races is coming, the demigods must be found and a battle between love and power is being waged from within. Apollyon is back, in all of his untamed, out-of-control glory. Seth and Josie are becoming a danger to each other as Seth’s feelings for Josie and her untrained powers taunts his allure to dark power. Through it all be prepared to grab the edge of your seat, because just when you are set for conflict, the dialogue does a sharp right into humor and witty banter. These characters are alive, they are sometimes over-the-top and larger than life, but that is what drives the action at a blistering pace! Watch as Josie comes into her own, Seth struggles and Apollyon, well, is Apollyon! Follow along through the POVs of Josie and Seth, feel their struggles, their emotions and see bravery show itself in a myriad of forms, as the cast of characters does another bang up job! Another fabulous read from a very talented author! I received an ARC edition from Kelly Simmon at Inkslinger in exchange for my honest review.

4.5/5 stars Oh man! I am just so into this series you guys! I didn't want The Power to end! And I am now DYING for The Struggle! I just love being with these characters and this world! Josie and Seth are back in the second installment of the Titan series, and I just loved them together. They complement each other so well and I absolutely love how much they would sacrifice for the other. It also hurt my heart and I felt myself gutted for awhile, but thankfully JLA didn't leave me in despair for TOO long! Seth is still struggling with his feelings of not being good enough for Josie, as well as his fear that he will destroy her, which is why he pulls what he does. I get his fears, but I do wish he would have talked it out with Josie, instead of making her feel the way he did. She just has so much kindness and compassion in her and I hated seeing her light snuffed out. However, Seth really doesn't WANT to stay away from her, which leads to some very sexy times between them. If you thought the first book was hot, JUST. YOU. WAIT! Seth is really struggling in this book with the darkness inside and it was hard seeing him so torn over it. He doesn't want to hurt the people he loves, but the temptation to feed off Josie's aether is quite palpable and I was really afraid for these two. I do love how Josie refuses to believe that Seth is only darkness. She believes in him, in his goodness, and that just gave me all the warm and fuzzies. Again- their balance is so wonderful and is what will get them through even the most difficult of trials. We do see some familiar faces from the Covenant series and I really enjoyed seeing that addition to the story and how that would all play out. There was some tension and jealousy at first, but it soon led to a group dynamic that I really enjoyed. Things won't ever be perfect because of Seth's past, but at least everyone can function as a team to achieve the greater goal. There were some surprises along the way that I didn't see coming and the situation between the halfs and pures has escalated to a point where sh** has gotten real. I am so excited to meet back up with my beloved characters and watch them continue to navigate against all the odds that are stacked against them.

I really enjoyed this book, but maybe not quite as much as The Return. I read the return a few months ago and therefore had a hard time remembering everything that happened in the book. I enjoyed the storyline, but I became frustrated with Seth multiple times throughout the book. I think I actually may have liked Josie better than Seth in this book, which is abnormal for me. I was so excited about the return of some of the "old" characters because I love them. I am anxious to read The Struggle and find out what is going to happen, especially with the intense ending of the book.

5 Fantastic Stars! Wow! Ms Armentrout's writing is magic - I was spellbound the entire book and didn't want it to end. There is nothing that I did not like about this book. I loved Josie and Seth, as well as Deacon, Alex and Aiden. It made me laugh and cry, and feel every emotion in between. And the ending! I don't know I how am I going to hold out for the next book!

I wasn't expecting this ARC. My husband looked at me strangely when I opened the package and started screaming. Needless to say, I opened it quickly. What an incredible read. No book two slump for The Power! This book turns up the intensity on the Titan series. Seth shines in all his glory in this book. His snarky comments, his sexy looks (he cuts his hair!), his awesome skills, and his cuddle ways are all there! I so enjoyed spending time with him. And the story is a journey of twists and turns. Oh, the secrets are there. And when Seth discovers what the Gods have not told him, yeah it all hits the fan. My need for book three is a hard and coursing NEED in me! My heart breaks for the lose in this book. Oh yes, there is lose. But there are also giggles, swoons and old friends. I adored seeing Aiden and Alex again. LOVE them so much. I did want to slap them at one point but it was quickly fixed. The characters of this world are dear friends and I enjoy spending time here. It's interesting to watch the social issues that arise as a result of the removal of the breed order. It mirrors our own world and makes it clear (if anyone needed clarification) of the right and wrong of it. I have always loved that aspect of the Covenant series and now this spin-off. Of course, the writing is excellent. I love JLA books. They are my kind of drug and I am happily addicted. If you have read The Return, you will want this book the day it comes out. If you haven't read The Return, get on it. Be ready. Be ready for more Seth, more Josie, more perfection.
