THE PROPHET DANIEL With comments and commentary By Bernard Albertson
Believe it or not there is a great deal of controversy about this book of Daniel. It is believed this book was written in the Babylonian and Persian period in or near the city of Babylon. However some noted scholars believe the book was not written in Babylon, but in Palestine. Some believe it was written after the fact and is history instead of Prophecy. However scrolls found and printed in 1956 show Nebuchadnezzar to have been in Judah and taking prisoners into exile as in the time period written by Daniel.
Also it is interesting to note that the prophet Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel were all actively working for the Lord in about the same time period while in captivity in Babylon. A fact that I was not aware of until recently, (If we are to learn, we must study.)
This shows us that as determined, as the Israel people were to destroy themselves God was even more determined to save them. This brings the reader to wonder “just why bother”, but we are speaking about God here and the only reason I can think of is because these were HIS people and HE loved them and was simply not going to let Satan (which is who the real culprit is here) destroy His work and people.
This brings me to this wondering thought. Will we find others who though not written about and made famous working just as hard for God? Perhaps not, but I believe they were there nonetheless.

About the Author

I was born in 1938 in a small hospital in Southern California. Most of my growing up years were spent in the then little town of Chula Vista California located next to the Mexican border.
At age sixteen, my home happened to be an old car. That is where I learned about life found God and the need for one to set goals and priorities. It was also the first time I picked up a pencil and started putting my thoughts on paper. Looking back, that was over fifty years ago.
I joined the service in nineteen fifty-seven. In my possession now, is an honorable discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard as well as one from the U.S. Army, of which I am very proud.
