About the Author

Bishop O'Connell is a consultant, writer, blogger, lover of kilts and beer, as well as a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America. Born in Naples Italy, while his father was stationed in Sardinia, Bishop grew up in San Diego, CA where he fell in love with the ocean and fish tacos. While wandering the country for work and school (absolutely not because he was in hiding from mind controlling bunnies), he experienced autumn in New England. Soon after, he settled in Manchester, NH, where he collects swords, drinks, writes, revels in his immortality as a critically acclaimed "visionary" of the urban fantasy genre, and is regularly chastised for making up things for his bio. He can also be found online at A Quiet Pint (aquietpint.com), where he muses philosophical on the life, the universe, and everything, as well as various aspects of writing and the road to getting published.

I had a hard time putting it down. It starts out a little slow, but picks up speed rather quickly. I could see this on the big screen. I really enjoyed the continuation of Wraith's story. To see what happened to her after The Forgotten. (Spoiler alert ) I'd have to say that my favorite aspect of the story was the introduction of other supernatural entities. Though we only meet those of the first house in this book, I can see how the remaining houses could fit into future storylines. Really looking forward to that!

This may move slightly slower then the previous books but it's still quite enjoyable. He has become one of my favorite new authors.

O'Connell does it again! This series has developed as has the writer. From The Stolen where the introduction to a world where wizards and immortals live amongst us, drive fast cars, and have cell phones to The Forgotten where quantum physics takes us on a fast paced journey through the eyes of Wraith, a homeless teen. A quick stop off with Three Promises to tell the "in between" tales that escaped the originals plus a bonus! And now, The Returned. O'Connell continues to peek interest in the adult version of urban fantasy. This one is a page turner so no spoilers! Loved it. Can't wait to see where he takes us next!

I enjoyed this book, but I didn't realize until I read it that I really like the paranormal romance genre rather than the paranormal mystery. Very interesting. Good read. Go read it for yourself!

I'm glad we got more of Wraith, Caitlyn, and Edward in The Returned and learning more about the Legion of Solomon. It started a little slow and I felt like the plot took the passenger seat in order to build the main conflict but I like where this series is going. I can't wait for the next installment!
