Robert authored guidebooks on Sheffield and Windsor, and contributed to The Guardian, Le Monde and Der Spiegel, before hopping the pond to embrace all things Floridian. You can find his works in the permanent collections of the British Library, and Oxford and Cambridge Universitylibraries. When he's not on the road chasing a commission with his beloved corgi Rufus, you'll find Robert cocktailing in London with his lifelong friends from the British Guild of Travel Writers.

Daniel Jacobs has worked on Rough Guides to Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, West Africa, Kenya, India, Bolivia and Brazil. He lives in London.

Stephen Keeling has worked on numerous titles for Rough Guides, including guidebooks to California, Puerto Rico, New England, Florida, Canada and the USA's national parks. He grew up in England and worked as a financial journalist before writing his first travel book twenty years ago. Stephen has lived in New York City since 2006.

Thorough and thoughtful, this series showcases the particular regions of a country. It informs readers about what they'll see, when to go, key attractions, and more. Travelers will especially appreciate the series' "15 Things Not To Miss" sections. The books also include full-page, full-color photographs, maps, itineraries for a weekend or several days, tips for sustainable travel and minimizing one's footprint, details about lesser-known spots to visit, information about annual festivals, and historical and cultural aspects. One surprising section has information about what the typical media coverage entails. Another great series feature is the attention to top picks for things to do and see and places to stay and eat. There are also basic tips, such as entry requirements for each country and essential language phrases. The series presents advice for solo travelers, people with disabilities, those with children, and more. VERDICT A comprehensive series with plenty of insider recommendations about cities and extended regions. Travelers will benefit from making these key reads.
