This is a great book for horror lovers, lovers of deep lore, lovers of great drama, lovers of urban fantasy, dark fantasy, etc. Or if you are sick of the "lover boy" vampires that have been in the media for awhile, you will love this book. L.M. is a true spinner of tales, giving us a story that will haunt you until you have finished the book, weaving your memories and waking thoughts with the wonder and dread of what is to happen next. If you root for Hael, or you winch at what she does you wish her well and hopes that she makes it through her trails and troubles as she leads you along in this tale. You will not wish to put down this book, I promise.

This book is a thrilling read! L. M. Labat is brilliant in combining both art, history, and horror. The atmosphere and vibe of this book gives me chills and has me wanting more. The main character, Hael, is ruthless, and the villains are even more cut-throat. The added illustrations in the book are detailed and haunting, and they drag the reader deeper into the story.

I don't usually read novels like these. I tend to stay away from horror, but this book caught my attention. The cover was attractive, and the main character is both strange, yet powerful. The main character isn't a hero. She is an anti-hero, but her ways and ferocity are unstoppable. The tone of this book was a stark difference from what I am accustomed to, but it was thrilling, entertaining and scary. The art inside the book is great.
