About the Author

As a child, Jennifer Haymore traveled the South Pacific with her family on their homebuilt sailboat. The months spent on the sometimes quiet, sometimes raging seas sparked her love of adventure and grand romance. Since then, she's earned degrees in computer science and education and held various jobs ranging from bookselling to teaching inner-city children to acting, but she's never stopped writing.

You can find Jennifer in Southern California trying to talk her husband into yet another trip to England, helping her three children with homework while brainstorming a new five-minute dinner menu, or crouched in a corner of the local bookstore writing her next novel.

My Thoughts: After reading, and ADORING, three of Jennifer Haymore's books, I've decided that whenever I'm in the mood to splurge, I'm buying a new one of hers. This one is the first full-length novel of hers I've read (the other two being novellas), and even though it was longer, I still wanted MORE. The premise of this one--the whole "Stockholm Syndrome" thing--is actually quite the opposite. Maybe it's a little bit there, but you can feel the realness of their attraction. Sam and Élise are a shining example of an amazing couple. Sam, despite being her captor, is so protective of her. And Élise? She's such a ball of fire... and her adoration of Sam is just heart melting. She calls him "My Sam" and I swear inside I think, Awwwwww ...... as I touch my hand to my heart. The Scoundrel's Seduction is simply stunning. I could read it over and again. Jennifer Haymore keeps on giving me the perfect stories to read. I don't see how I could ever, EVER, stop reading her work. You need to check her out for yourself, either this one or another by her. I guarantee you won't be sorry. My Rating: Exceptional

Author Jennifer Haymore rocked this one for me! I loved all the adventure, and secrecy in this story, it kept me captivated throughout. The love that develops between Elise and Sam is unique, and I love how she calls him, my Sam. Sam's family history is definitely complicated, and plays a big role in this story, and I'm so glad that his whole family was included. Sam is the darkly handsome hero who has so much tragedy in his past, that he has hardened his heart. Elise is the feminine, but very strong heroine, who coming from France during the Terror has much tragedy in her own past, and now literally caught in the middle of intrigue, and in the strong arms of Sam no less, she has to figure a way out. So off we go on the adventure across London and the English countryside. This story is very well written, and I highly recommend reading The Scoundrel's Seduction, a House of Trent Novel. I love this book, and will definitely re-read again, and again.

Pretty sure I've read other books in this series, but either way it was a good book to read. I definitely read it as quickly as I could because the plot caught me up. I liked that Lady Dunthorpe didn't just let herself be captured and not try to escape. She was pretty determined. I admired her strength of character a lot. Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Five Romp Stars! Historical Romance Release: May 27, 2014 ABOUT THE BOOK: Undercover agent Sam Hawkins has devoted his life to protecting king and country. So when he receives orders to assassinate a ruthless traitor, he doesn't question his mission. But Sam didn't know his deed had a witness—the beautiful and mysterious betrayer's wife. Now he has no choice but to take her as his prisoner—one he can neither trust…nor resist. Élise, Lady Dunthorpe, will do anything to escape her powerful captor—including seducing him senseless. She didn't know of her miserable husband's crimes, but she has secrets of her own—secrets that threaten everything she holds dear. With his piercing dark eyes and gentle touch, Sam inflames Élise's deepest desires, but how could she ever trust a man who won't let her go? Caught between the crown he's sworn to serve and the woman he's come to love, Sam will risk his heart—and his very life—to keep her safe. MY REVIEW: Oh wow! I didn’t expect this story, and I have to say, I am so friggen happy that I found this author. A Scoundrel’s Seduction is the third story in the House of Trent series. Sam is in service for the crown and his latest mission places him in the path of Elise. Sam has a hard life behind him, one that makes him cynical, and all he wants to do is get in, get the job done, then go back to do what he has to for the crown. Meeting Elise changes everything. It strikes something deep, but seeing as he doesn’t believe he deserves anything more, he fights against it. She, of course, is equally untrusting at first….well, because she saw him murder her husband. ;) Ms. Haymore has written a fantastic story and earn herself yet another stalker….myself. The forging of a bond through these two characters is something you won’t forget. Get it today!

Another lovely read from Jennifer Haymore! This is third book in the House of Trent series, featuring the base-born big brother to the duke, undercover agent Sam Hawkins. The poor guy has had a pretty rough going for most of his life and it's definitely nice to see him get his happy ending. Our heroine, is the lovely yet misunderstood French-born Élise. She's had a pretty terrible time in life, too. So the story is pretty action packed. After an assassination, Sam finds that he has a witness (Élise), and from there, it's a kidnapping, a truce, a runaway, an understanding, some romancing, some steamy moments, more kidnapping, some full blown action and finally a happy ending. The romance was quite cute, though it did feel just a teeny-tiny insta-love-ish (and kinda mushy sometimes). But at the same time, I was just so happy that they found each other, and some happiness, that I was okay with it (they both really had sad pasts!). I appreciated that there were a very tangible conflict that would have kept Sam and Élise apart, and that they actually worked to overcome it (instead of stupid reasoning like, "oh, she's French, I would never be with her, oh but I love her, but I can't be with her" etc. etc. for example). I also really liked the friendship between Élise and Sam's undercover partners, very sweet. Oh and we get to check up on all our favourite Trent family members, which is always fun. And from the previous books in the series, we also get to delve more into the mysterious disappearance of the dowager duchess (aka mom) that was an overlying arc though the series, and learn a little more of the past, too. Overall it was an enjoyable read with a sweet romance and action to keep you on your toes. I love that Sam and Élise got their happy ending because they're characters that you totally just want to root for. The Scoundrel's Seduction is a great addition to Haymore's House of Trent series, and I definitely look forward to more. "Some eggs? Ham?" "Yes and yes," she told him gratefully, sliding into the seat. Laurent took the last empty chair, and using a large spoon, piled food onto her plate and his. Hawk had laid his newspaper on the table. "Would you like a bun? With butter? Jam?" "Thank you," she murmured. "Both, please." Dieu, these men certainly were intent on feeding her. It was charming, in a bizarre kind of way.

This is book 3 in the House of Trent series. When Sam Hawkins assassinates a traitor, he never imagined the traitor's wife would witness it. Knowing he can't leave a witness to turn him in, he takes her with him. Elise, Lady Dunthorpe, can't believe that her husband was just murdered in front of her and the killer is making her go with him. Not knowing who he is and why he killed her husband, Elise does everything in her power to get away from him. Realizing that she is not going to get away from Sam, Elise makes the best of her situation. And when someone tries to kill her, Elise must put her life in the hands of her husband's killer. But as they spend more time to together, Elise realizes there is more to Sam than she first realized.  As they run from her would-be killer, Elise and Sam fight their growing attraction to each other. How can Elise be falling for her husband's killer? I knew when Haymore wrote Sam's story it would be a good one. I was definitely not disappointed! Haymore does an excellent job of pealing away the layers of her characters which definitely draws the reader into the story. Sam was such an enigma in the other stories, I was excited to learn what made him into the man he was. Haymore paired Sam with Elise, who had just as many secrets. As their relationship grew, they both revealed more of their past which in turn made them grow closer together. They were the perfect match! The story of the missing Dowager Duchess of Trent, which ran through the other two stories, continues with this story and adds an added element of mystery. We get to see Sam's siblings again, which is always a treat. I hope that Haymore will be continuing this series as I would love to read their stories. Thanks go to Grand Central Publishing for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

Another great book in the series Historical, England Sam Hawkins is an undercover agent that has devoted his life to protecting both his country and king. He doesn’t question his mission even when he is given orders to assassinate a ruthless traitor. Sam didn’t know his deed had a witness though. The betrayer’s mysterious and beautiful wife saw what Sam did. Now he has no choice but to take her and make her his prisoner. A prisoner he can neither resist nor trust. Elise, Lady Dunthorpe is determined to do anything to escape her captor. Even if what she must do is seduce him senseless. She had no idea what her miserable husband had done but she also has secrets of her own. Those secrets threaten everything she holds dear. Sam’s gentle touch and piercing eyes inflame Elise but can she trust the man that won’t let her go? Sam is caught between the crown he is sworn to serve and the woman who has quickly become everything to him, the woman he loves. Sam will risk everything his heart and his life if necessary to keep her safe. This is another great book in a series that is proving to be a very good surprise. The mystery that is woven through the books that keep the books tied together and yet each one holds up on its own. While the books can read as standalone books they are much better read in order as there is so much information and clues that help build the central plot of the books. This story as some great action that moves the story along at a fast pace and will have the reader turning the pages just to see what will happen next. The twists and turns that this one takes makes for a wonderful read. It is nice to see Sam get his happy ever after. This one will also leave readers hungry for more from this world that has been built with each and every book up until now.

I enjoy this book a lot but not as much as I thought I would. I enjoy everything about it and the when Sam found where his mother was, I was disappointed. I thought that there would be more behind her kidnapping but no. I love Sam's character. He is the oldest of the Hawkins siblings but the illegitimate son. From the beginning of the series till now, he secrets works for the government to protect the crown. This book starts out with him having killed his assignment but only to discover that our heroine was at the scene but hiding. At this point, Sam has no choice but to take her with him until he is given orders from his superior. As he and Elise spend more time together, they start to open up to each other as well. They open up about their past while trying to stay alive. I don't know how to describe Elise besides the fact that I love her. She regretted her decision marrying young to Dunthorpe and when Dunthorpe was killed, she thought that she would finally be free but that was not the case. The government in England thinks that she is a spy for being of French blood and because of Dunthorpe. She has tried to escape from Sam so that she can run away somewhere where the people do not know her. I love her. She's determine but at the same time, she has this sense of being scare. She has no one since after her husband's death, everyone thinks she is in league with the French. Both Elise and Sam are perfect for each other. They both have a rough past and upbringing that they can somewhat understand each other. The passion they have for each other is very strong that they do try to deny it but failed. Besides trying to survive, this book also concludes the the mystery as to Sam's missing mother, the Dowager Duchess. Her part of the story was the only one that I dislike. I guess it was because she should have at least send words to her children that she was alive instead of sending them on a merry chase looking for her. To learn about her and where she has been, read the book! Actually, read all the book in the series to learn about the Trent family. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.

THE SCOUNDREL'S SEDUCTION by Jennifer Haymore is an exciting Regency Historical Romance. #3 in "The House of Trent" series, and what a series! Can be read as a stand alone, but I would strongly recommend reading the series in it's entirely. See,"The Devil's Pearl"(Novella), "The Duchess Hunt", "His By Christmas"(Novella), "The Rogue's Proposal" and "One Night With an Earl"(Novella). This is Sam Hawkins and Elise, Lady Dunthorpe's story! Sam is an undercover agent, the eldest, albeit the illegitimate son of the Dowager of Trent, and devoted to his country. Elise, is the wife of a traitor, and a witness to his demise at the hands of Sam, who was sent to assassinate the traitor, Lord Dunthorpe. Sam was left with only two options, kill Elise, who witness the assassination or take her prisoner....can he trust her or was she a part of the traitor's plot? Follow, Elise, and Sam as their navigate the waters of passion, betrayal, trust, seduction, adventure, danger, and love. Oh, and we find out the mystery of the missing Dowager Trent, which started this whole adventure in book 1. Sam and Elise have many obstacles and dangers to overcome if they are to risk their hearts and save Elise's life. Oh, I forgot to mention, Sam has been ordered to eliminate Elise, as a possible threat to the country. Fast paced and filled with passion and love. I love the way Ms. Haymore brings the Trent siblings together, how they work together to help each other no matter the consequences or the reasons. Ms. Haymore is a wonderful storyteller who writes with passion, and fills the reader with romance and warmth. A must read Historical Romance. Rather you enjoy historical romance, or romance itself, this is a great tale of romance, love and seduction. Received for an honest review. Love it The Scoundrel's Seduction is the third book in a "house Of Trent" series. Sam Hawkins is the illegitimate son of the Dowager Duchess of Trent who devoted his life to protect his country. The story starts with Sam's mission to murder the traitor lord Dunthrope and since Elise is a witness, Sam does not have a choice except to take her with him. Elise is an intelligent, beautiful and lovely french heroine trying to escape her captor. It is so adorable how they fell in love and try to deal with their dire situation.Sam and Elise's story has great adventures, romances , passion and the mystery of the missing Dowager Duchess of Trent which started in the first book. I love it how all the Trent's brothers protect each others in danger and stay together through scandals .It is a delightful read and one of those book that I want to read it again soon. Thank you Mrs. Jennifer Haymore for writing fabulous books
