Perhaps Ms. Drayton feels that unfolding the story in dribs and drabs as she does is akin to writing a mystery where the clues are slowly unfolded.  Instead, it feels like riding on a deeply rutted road in a pick-up with no springs:  you're bouncing all over the place and loose sight of where you're going and what's ahead.  Very frustrating and annoying.

Dreadfully written; reference to many irrelevant topics. I can't get through the first chapter.

Very difficult to get through to the actual life story of Anne Perry has way to much detail about the content of Anne Perry,s novels and not enough about her actual life if I wanted to read her novels i would have purchased them instead of what was supposed to be her biography

A dreadful bore of a book! Thought I could read just about anything, but confronted my albatross with this dreary recounting of characters and plots from Perry's novels. A few facts about Perry's past are tossed into the dull mix, but they are underplayed and fail to confront the dark heart at the core of Perry's young life. The biggest mystery here is how a shocking and callous crime can evoke so little interest.

Wanted to like it, but was disappointed.

Mostly synopsys one after the other of Anne Perry books. Could have condensed to one chapter.

It was nice to finally hear this story in an unbiased way. I came to feel I understood this complicated lady and her life. I have loved her books and have always enjoyed seeing her thoughts on life reflected in them. I understand more now where she was coming from. We all need redemption. We all need to value our life and those in it. We need to have compassion on others. We all have great worth. I love Anne.

There is something very wrong with a person who can commit a murder. They an essential part of humanity lacking in their character. To continue to buy Anne Perry's novels, is to support the thought that it is ok to kill someone in cold blood then go on to become a highly paid author of books.

After reading this book (which was a crime in itself), I find myself searching for a good book about the subject matter.
