There is no mention on the cover or in the synopsis that this is a part of a series. Online, the title includes "Silver Sagas Book" but I wasn't aware of that when I started reading it. And although I could feel elements of the story were referring to past books, it was still able to stand on its own two feet. It actually made me more curious to read the previous books. I was surprised to discover that there were multiple books prior to this one. I only felt like there was one, maybe two books I had missed. I never would have guessed five. Because this is my first book by this author, and having jumped into the middle of a series, I did miss out on really knowing these characters. They had so much history that I missed out on. Yet, I was fascinated by their relationships and friendships. Sometimes I like just being thrown into a story. I loved reading the climax on both storylines. They really drew me in. I am ready to learn more about the characters and the events. I will definitely look into the previous books and wait for the next books.
