I have a feeling that this story is far better in full novel (written) form than it was in a comic. I enjoyed it, but a lot of the best parts in a romance novel come (imo) from a character’s internal monologues, or just knowing what they’re thinking, and that just doesn’t translate into a graphic form. Victoria, the heroine, is really likeable as a strong and capable woman who took on her father’s debt in order to save him. Prince Kateb, the titular sheik, seemed a bit one dimensional, still a good male lead, but nothing out of the ordinary. The art is pretty basic female-geared manga style with clean lines and backgrounds, so it works pretty well with the type of story and the pacing. Overall, I enjoyed it as a quick comic and I’m looking forward to hunting down the original novel.
