Overview

Siena Bernstein is leaving her yoga mat behind for a semester of study abroad in Munich. She’s thrilled with the prospect of a German adventure (her horoscope is encouraging as well), but she hopes to make more than just her dreams come true while she’s there. Siena’s dad, who passed away when she was a baby, kept a "Carpe Diem" list—sort of his top-ten adventurous things to do. He completed all but one of the tasks—going to Germany to thank the man who helped smuggle his family past the Berlin Wall. Amidst her adventures in biergartens, Alpine skiing, and a rigorous course load, Siena is on a quest to complete her father’s list. But she’s also set on having the best possible time while she tries. With the help of two new best buds and a handsome RA in her dorm, she’ll surely succeed.

This is da 3rd S.A.S.S book I've ever read. I like learning about these countries cities. Sienna's mission 2 find da man dat helped her father's family escape east Berlin, finding a German-fling, and soaking up the culture. I give this book a thumbs up. I look forward 2 more S.A.S.S. books.

I thought this book was a little better than the others in the series. It had a great story about the Berlin Wall and the plot of the book was a lot more believable than some other books.I also found it really cool to learn so much about Germany(which is where the book takes place, not in Munich,Austria)

The Sound of Munich was a very inspiring book. It was touching to me how one girl can be so determined to live her father's dream of thanking the man that helped them across the berlin wall. In the process, she meets new friends and discovers her german family's past. Though her Dad has died she is determined to make him happy, from wherever else he is. With some drama romance and adventure stuffed in between, this book is in my opinion the best S.A.S.S. book so far. The only part of this book that I had a problem with was the slow beginning then fast middle and end. It seemed like the beginning would never end, it probably went on for like 50 pages, then once it got to the middle and end, the best parts, it's like the author went into fast forward mode, even though some of the parts could have really used some better explanation and detail. If the middle and end were streched out some more, I believe that this book could definately be a very popular book with teens who don't like reading much, seeing as though it is shorter and has some culture and fun in it.

When I read the book, it was absolutely wonderful. My mom is 100% German so it fun to read about her culture. However, when I asked her about some of the German phrases in the book, she said that they were incorrect. The story though, I think I could read it 1,000 times and would still love it. I recommend this book to everyone who looks at this review. :)
