I got this book even after reading some pretty negative reviews about it. One reviewer pointed out that the characters refer to the Earl as "Your Grace" and I had thought that the author had messed up once or twice but nooo, it is all the time. I also did not like the ambiance of the book it seemed like pretty immature writing. There were also a lot of areas where things were not explained very well and it seemed to jump from one subject to another. And one other thing that really bothered me was that the ENGLISH Earl constantly used Irish turn of phrases like saying Faith and calling the ladies Colleen. I could not even bring myself to finish this book and I do not really recommend it to anyone who is at all a historical fiction fan

This was a quick short read. 175 pages. The main characters were well developed but not others in the story. She referred to the Earl as " Your Grace" . This is the address given for a duke. If you are going to write in this time frame, do your research.

Could have done without the sex before marriage, that these days seem prudish, nevertheless it was a romantic tale that kept my interest throughout.

This story was a truely injoyable read with Irish folklore and delightful characters. L.M.A.

This is a very exciting romance story. First she shoots her Neighbor, then she slips the shiny coin where he could find it..It was suppose to bring bad luck. She likes being single. She doesn't want to get married, if she did she would have to turn all her profit over to him,and she didn't know if he would take it away from her.She gets into a lot of trouble. I really enjoyed this book. I like Beverly Adams writing .I will have to read another one of books.

Loved the romance of the period. The characters could have been placed in modern 21st century. It was the type of love story all women dream about.

I don't generally like "Victorian age" romances but this was good! The lady ended up being kidnapped by an "unsavory" man but was rescued!! I don't know why there are so many poor reviews!!

Predictable ending, wouldn't keep to read again, so a 3 star rating!

Overall I enjoyed the story. There is a heavy Irish influence in the dialogue and the mythology that left me confused at times.

Rich language abounds with a we bit to much Irish brogue. But the action is very slow...

Enjoyable plot with humor woven in. The only improvement I could suggest is to change the address of a duke to that of the earl.

I enjoyed this fun romantic story, with a bit of blarney thrown it.

"Meh" is the general feeling of the story. The pace was in turns dragging with an abundance of irrelevant info and then choppy, blazing through scenes that should have been fleshed out more. The characters, while interesting, were not really deep. Another reviewer dubbed the writing "immature" and I think that's the most accurate description. The story wasn't bad, the scenes were logical and purposeful, but the writing was lacking. Enjoyable if you're not a stickler and need something to read, but have nothing else lined up.

'Your Grace' to an Earl? Angora sheep? Kissing easily while on horseback? And numerous other errors. I finished it, but shook my head about a lot of it.

Very sweet and romantic She's very headstrong and stubborn. But he is just as much. So he fights to win her hand. The way this story flows is unlike any other I have read. I thoroughly liked this book.

Loved it. Despite being titled "spinster", Beatrice is no simpering miss left on the shelf. She is intelligent, beautiful and practically fearless. Lord James won't know what hit him.

I noticed nothing is really explained also instead of saying Beatrice said she starts saying the lady of the house says. I love stories about Ireland and Scotland. I know old folk lore and I just couldn't get into it

The day that the Spinster and the Earl met started an interesting relationship which might eventually lead to love. But the path to love isn't always straight. It takes many twists and turns before it gets to its eventual destination

Good read. I liked both Beatrice and James. Could have included his family vs. just mentioning the conflict. I will look into the rest of the series.
