The St. Roch Tavern: A Brief History

A brief history of our beloved St. Roch neighborhood corner bar, the St. Roch Tavern. This manuscript summarizes primary source research from the Orleans Parish Notarial Archives and New Orleans City Archives, as well as secondary sources such as historic maps, FEMA surveys, and personal narratives. This bar has existed, albeit under different names and owners, in this location since the 1890s, and continues to be a neighborhood staple until this day.
