This is a short story revolving around Tom and his cousin as they set out at night to cross the trestle. There are a few suspenseful moments as the boys face danger on their journey and one of them almost loses his life. One of my problems with the story is it’s hinted that Tom feels guilty for a family tragedy that took place, yet it’s never revealed what happened. I wish the author had shared what happened in Tom’s past instead of leaving me hanging.
