The author takes you through his journey of investigating the Shroud as a journalist. As a result you learn the history of tbe Shroud, the history of how it has been investigated over the centuries, and about the amazing amount of scientific analysis it has undergone. While the story of the 19th and 20th century investigations may seem pendantic at times, it provides a solid context for much of the misinformation that has incorrectly tainted our view of the shroud. I read tbe book with no solid belief in it being a fraud or being authentic. While no analysis can absolutely prove it is the burial cloth of Jesus Christ, it removes virtually all possibility of it being a fake or hoax. Like many things in life, that may be the best answer we will ever have.

The Truth about the Shroud of Turin is unique in that it's not for or against the validity of the Shroud. Wilcox has studied the Shroud for decades, and presents arguments both for and against dating back centuries. Wilcox gives you the tools the make your own decision about whether or not this actually is the burial shroud of Jesus.
