When systematic struggles with the legal system shut down all doors, Mr. Moone is left with no choice but to appeal to President Obama himself, of which he responds with an empathetic authority. While his fight against unethical abuse continues, he is forced to relocate to the state of North Carolina and suffers from constant bouts of insomnia and depression.

Moone pulls no punches in showcasing the horrors plaguing the working class of contemporary America and provides plenty of practical examples of how to counter them. Dedrick L. Moone's narrative feels authentic and rings true, and he delves into his real-life experiences in spectacular fashion to explore the troubles facing contemporary America. The usage of actual events and exhausting court battles provide the narrative with an added sense of urgency and legitimacy that is difficult to shrug off. At the end of the memoir, I couldn't help but appreciate Dedrick L. Moone's resolve and applauded the comeuppance that his detractors rightly deserved. Highly recommended.

This book reads like a movie. There was something new with every chapter. It should be a movie. I cannot believe that two people can continue to go through so much but still come through smiling. I like how the author relates the information to biblical references.

With a tone that vacillates between conspiratorial and revelatory, Mr. Moone and his daughter, the co-authors of this book, are compelling storytellers. Detailing a number of unjust and broken systems in America that makes the book hugely relevant, the book displays a keen memory, a suspicious spirit, and a fierce unwillingness to quit, resulting in a raw and gripping memoir. Some of the most powerful sections are the brief, self-reflective passages that break the fourth wall and reveal the authors' wise perspective. The rare and beautiful relationship of Dedrick with his daughter is the beating heart of this personal and powerful story, and that alone makes this memoir worth the read.
