I did not realize that this was a religious based story when I got the book. There are enough religious references that you could probably read it aloud in Sunday School. This series would probably do really well if someone made them into straight to DVD movies and sold them at a church bookstore. The plot was cute, and I liked that it was set in the countryside and not in the endless balls/parties/social machinations of the ton. I also sympathized with Amelia attachment to Lucy. Definitely suitable/content appropriate for younger teenage readers

Ladd 's characters are endearing and memorable. The details and situations of each character are so well detailed they come alive. Beautiful without being brazen. Love and GOD conquers all!

If you like to put religion into the story this is a good one, It could have been better without it.

I read Sarah Ladd's The Heiress of Winterwood and loved it. I was so happy that the other two books in this collection were just as good. Her books are hard to put down once you've started!
