Oscar Henry found out about Wizard School because the Wizard School Train would come through the railroad yard where he worked. His parents think it's a school named after somebody named Wizard. They don't know anything about magic.Oscar Henry goes home after his first year. Now he is 9 ft tall. His parents can't figure him out. At that size, he should have been on the football team. But he's too gentle. His parents ask Oscar Henry to go out into the world to figure out who he is and what his place in the world is.So he takes off, catching a ride on a freight train with two hobos who are his friends. They find jobs in various places. Oscar Henry is always trying to earn more so that he can return to Wizard School. But no matter how hard he tries, he just can't make enough to do that. It's not so much that he wants to return to Wizard School. But he misses his friends. And if he doesn't return, he'll never see them again.But a miracle is just around the corner.
