Lady Theodora Montgomery departed Miss Emmeline's School of Education and Decorum for Ladies of Outstanding Quality to attend her first London Season--her three dearest friends by her side. With her sharp wit and skill on the archery field, Theo is far more interested in winning a large purse prize than securing a husband. But when she is unmasked on the tourney grounds, her face exposed to all, she fears her identity and days spent gallivanting around London will cause not only her undoing, but the downfall of her friends as well.

Mr. Alistair Price, heir to the elderly Viscount Melton, arrived in London with his eight younger siblings in tow. He is charged with keeping his family name above reproach until the Season starts and his sister, Miss Adeline Price, is presented to society--though that proves far more difficult than Alistair ever expected when he discovers his rebellious sister climbing down the side of their townhouse and scurrying off to Whitechapel for an archery tournament. His focus remains on saving his family from the certain ruin and disgrace Adeline's actions invited--until Alistair catches sight of another female archer, her arrow connecting with far more than the center of her target.

And honor above all...

With Theodora's future--and that of her friends--in jeopardy, will she agree to a marriage devoid of affection, or risk everything for the man who won her heart?

More about the Lady Archer's Creed Series:

Lady Theodora/ Theo wasn’t really a troublemaker but she was free spirited - a young woman enjoying studying and calculating and examining all kinds of things. It didn’t help when her brother sent her to Miss Emmeline’s School Of Education And Decorum For Ladies Of Outstanding Quality. Rather than learning needlepoint, painting, singing, playing an instrument, or how to serve tea when making small talk about the weather this school encouraged the students to explore their interest. After six years with her three roommates Miss Adeline Price, Lady Georgina, and Lady Josephine the young women excelled at archery and came to think of themselves as the Lady Archer Creed about to come out the four young women meet in London and decide to enter an archery contest to win some money to donate to the repairs at Miss Emmeline’s school. Theo is attracted to Alistair and he to her. But Alistair has to marry off all of his sisters before he can marry. Theo is confused about everything. But he is the devil Adeline complains about. Theodora and Alistair’s romance has a touch of scandal to it. Alistair feels overwhelmed with the care of his eight siblings all under the age of twenty. Lady Theo has always felt like an outsider, never fitting in with her circle of friends, her family, or society. Theo has a fascination with maps and wants to help develop better maps and use of topography. She also has a special ability to cut Alistair's frustration and anxiety over being responsible for his siblings. Alistair's father’s health isn’t good and Alistair has never been taught the ropes of being a Viscount.Alistair is not sure how to I handle Theo or deal with her. I liked this story a lot. At one point you set on the edge of your chair waiting to see what will happen with Theo and Alistair and all his problems with his eight siblings. This was well written and believable. But it was difficult to keep track of everything going on. Also where was Theo’s older brother who was the head of the family and should be concerned about Theo. I liked how Theo could help calm Alistair. I thought they were sweet together. I also loved how the young women wanted to help get money to repair the school. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and I recommend.

Theodora (Lady Archer's Creed Book 1) by Christina McKnight is a humorous romp through the Regency era of England. Four friends formed a childhood bond through their school years that continues through their first season in London. Their mantra is friendship, loyalty and honor above all, but will their mantra carry them through the challenges of life into adulthood? Or will the challenges of adulthood leave their mantra behind as they face unforeseen obstacles? Their love of archery brings these four young girls together, Theodora aka Theo, Georgina aka Georgie, Adeline and Josephine aka Josie, to form "The Lady Archer’s Creed". Through their love of the sport of Archery, they solidify their unbreakable bond, and each Lady brings a unique quality that adds to their unbreakable friendship. First up in what promises to be an amazing four book series is.... Lady Theodora Montgomery.... This is the story of Theodora and Mr. Alistair Price, who is heir to the elderly Viscount Melton. He brings his eight siblings to London, one of which is his sister, the rebellious Adeline. Who is alsi one of the Lady Archer's Creed. While the friendship of these four young ladies are more important than ever, will they be able to continue their mantra of friendship, loyalty are honor throughout their adulthood? Will love and desperation destroy all they hold dear? Will they be able to find their true love or give their lives to another, who hasn't gained their heart? This is only a few obstacles they will face. "Theodora" is a delicious romp through archery contests, the facts of life, growing up, and facing events of the real world, including, possible scandal, finding love and a HEA. Readers will find an intriguing story of friendships, romance and passion with some twists and turns. Ms. McKnight brings this story to life with her funny antics, her wonderful charactizations, her development of the background of these young ladies and her trueness to Regency London. A wonderful story, indeed! While "Theodora" has passionate kisses, there are no actual love scenes, making this a sweet Regency Romance. Readers of Regency Romance, sweet romances, forthright young ladies, Lady Archery contests, and deliciously amazing stories, will enjoy Book 1, "Theodora" in this four book series. I certainly did! I think laughter is good for the soul, and must thank Christina McKnight for writing such a wonderful story! I especially needed this at this time in my life. Thank you Christina McKnight! ! A very enjoyable and satisfying read! I look forward to Book 2, "Georgina", can't wait to see what she gets into, and her adventures. Well done, indeed!! Lady Theodora has two passions in her life, archery, a sport she enjoys with her three former school-friends and map making. Her brother unusually for the time, is supportive of her academic achievements, even going so far as to sponsor her in addressing gatherings at the British Museum. She has no intention of clandestinely taking part in an archery competition (regardless of the fact that the prize money would help with repairs at her beloved school) as the finals clash with her important meeting with the French mapmaker Cassini. However, plans change..... I really enjoyed this story and hope I have the opportunity to read about Adeline, Josie and Georgie finding their love matches. I would have given this 5* if it were not for some historical inaccuracies. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

Great start to the Lady Archer's Creed Series! Theo is a bright, witty, and talented you lady that takes friendship very seriously. She's devoted to them and her family. She's also on 2 missions that have her all over the place! I can tell you I held my breath every time she did in hopes that it went well! She's a great person inside and out and although it takes time for others to see this there are people on her side!

An entertaining read... Book One of the Lady Archer’s Creed series starts out in a most unusual way that will entertain the reader. This book involves four intelligent girls who meet at the School of Education and Decorum for Ladies of Outstanding Quality and become fast friends. I must admit this is the most unusual plot I have read in a while and it took me a moment to be fully present and enjoy the authors unique writing style. Theo makes a great heroine and that she constantly uses her intelligence throughout the book is refreshing and enjoyable. There are times when she appears too naive for her age and then at the flip of a coin she seems too mature all in a good way. Alistair truly has my sympathy. I am from a large family and it was as crazy as his so he has all my compassion as I was in charge of my siblings as well. His character is believable, annoying, determined and lovable. Secondary character Adeline just annoyed me to no end. I can honestly say she is someone I would avoid like the plague as a friend but she worked for this group of friends and to draw her brother, Alistair into the story. Other secondary characters and part of the group are Georgie and Josie who though in the book are portrayed in a manner that does not make them standout. They are presented in a way that pulls the reader into wanting to know more about them though. Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

'Theodora' by Christina McKnight is book one in the "Lady Archer's Creed" series. This is the story of Lady Theodora “Theo” Montgomery and Mr. Alistair Price. Theo and her friends have left Miss Emmeline’s School of Education and Decorum for Ladies of Outstanding Quality to attend their first Season. Alistair is the brother on one of the girls and is to help escort them through the town. Alistair is young but has taken this along with everything else very seriously. But with meeting Theo he is kind of thrown off somewhat. Theo has other plans than doing what all the other young ladies are doing. Along with her personal plans her and the girls have plans to raise money to help the school. Theo is great at archery and has taken to being raising money that way but if caught there will be a scandle and that could ruin them all. This book is another emotional sweet read by Ms. McKnight. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

This story took a different approach to the average run of the mill Historical Romance. While the story is predominantly about Theodora, there are three other ladies that we get to know quite well. The four girls met in boarding school and have forged friendships that will last a lifetime. All four ladies are unique in that they are well educated as well as skilled archers. With archery a big part of this tale, the story flies along from one adventure to another. While I really did enjoy this book, there were a few characters that were rather unlikeable. Also, I felt the conflict surrounding the ladies taking part in an archery tournament was both repetitive and irritating after a while. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the tale and plan on keeping track of the series as Ms. McKnight is able to have them published.

Positivity. Such a big word, with a simple meaning that means so much. I am drawn to strong heroines. So many times, women are looked at as in need of a rescuer but Ms. McKnight has spotlighted the opposite with her Lady Archer's Creed series. Strength of character breeds strong friendships, fearless women and great storytelling. I can go on all day about Theodora and her band of courageous compadres but the greatest message of all within the pages of this novel is: There is no one mold for a person to fit into. We are special for what we are and that inner light that sets our course not only makes us unique but beautiful.

Friendship, loyalty and honor above all! Four young women become fast friends at Miss Emmeline’s School of Education and Decorum for Ladies of Outstanding Quality. This is not your typical schools for young ladies and Lady Theodora (Theo) is very grateful for that fact. Even at the tender age of 12 she appreciates the school and her family’s sacrifices to allow her to attend. She meets Miss Adeline Price, Lady Georgina and Lady Josephine and together they form the Lady’s Archer’s Creed. The women use Theo’s knowledge of force and trajectory and apply it to their archery. They have devised a plan to use this knowledge and their skills to help raise funds to help Miss Emmeline with repairs to the school they each came to love over their six-year stay. This is a fun, spirited and delightful story of Lady Theodora (Theo) Montgomery who has always felt like an outsider, never sure where she fits in with her circle of friends, her family or society. She is a bluestocking with a fascination for maps and wants to help develop better maps and use of topography. She has a unique ability to cut through Alistair’s frustration and anxieties over being responsible for his siblings. Mr. Alistair Price, future Viscount of Melton, is 25 and just wants his eight siblings to behave and his oldest sister, Adeline, to have a successful first season. He is authoritative, almost tyrannical, but deep down he loves his siblings. He has all the responsibilities of the Viscountship because his father’s health is tenuous and he was never taught the ropes of being Viscount. He is stumbling along in his life convinced that he can’t have a life until each of his siblings is settled- that will be at least eight years. From their first meeting Theo, has turned Alistair’s life on its side. She teases him and challenges him like no one ever has. Their banter is fast paced and entertaining. While he is not sure how to handle, or deal with Theo, his protective instincts are on high alert. Their HEA happens quickly but follows a believable course. Theo helps Alistair realize that he does not have to be a tyrant, he just needs to listen and lighten up. The tension brought in be a very unwelcome suitor helps to quicken the HEA. Ms. Mcknight has created a character you dislike within the first sentence of his introduction. The grasping, low, entitled character left me wanting a shower each time he made an appearance. The tension was the perfect balance to the relationship between Theo and Alistair. I loved the secondary female characters and I am looking forward to each of their stories. They each add their individual humor, wit and spunk to this story and the series to come. The one drawback for me was the absence of Theo’s brother, the head of her family and the one person that should have been very concerned with her comings and goings and her reputation. While the absence bothered me, it did force Alistair to extend his protection to Theo. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
