About the Author

Born in Denmark, Sophie Barnes spent her youth traveling with her parents to wonderful places all around the world. She's lived in five different countries, on three different continents, and speaks Danish, English, French, Spanish, and Romanian. But, most impressive of all, she's been married to the same man three times—in three different countries and in three different dresses.

When she's not busy dreaming up her next romance novel, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, cooking, gardening, watching romantic comedies and, of course, reading.

Sophie Barnes is extremely talented. I've loved all her books so far! This one is packed with an interesting plot that I think people will really grab a hold of. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Well done Miss Barnes, you've blossomed into a wonderfully engaging author and I can't wait until your next book!

Didn't like it as well as Alex's story. I just didn't get into the main character's as I did in the first book of the series. After saying this, it is worth reading. Reminds the reader how far women have come! Ljb

I enjoyed this book. I always enjoy reading book that go together, but at the same time you can read this alone. In reguards to the one comment about Ryan being narrow minded, I don't think he was at all. He felt like so many other people of the time might have. He didn't know Mary well enough to agree with what she was doing. And there was more than just one kiss. About to read about William!!

This was a good book, but the male lead was a bit too narrow minded and NO sex at all just one kiss. For the female lead to be so innocent after having been ar war was a long stretch. It was all in all a good book

Very good book. I enjoyed the interesting way the writer presented Mary and her life, she kept you guessing. She was raised by her father in a Man's World which proved beneficial for her and her love of serving others. She was a smart girl and turned out to be a smart woman. It is nice to have a love story without all the details of the romance.

Why write review if they don't post it? Why keep trying to buy books that Nook offers and after you confirmed purchase you get message "This item is unavailable at this time . Please try again later "? G.K.

Neither character is interesting on any level. I dont get their "romance". Neither character or story inspired any sort of emotion for me other than boredom. Their dialogue is boring and the story is boring. I wanted to like this book and i tried to get through it but i just couldnt...

This is Ryan's story. Mary is introduced at the end of Alexandra's story. This author, in my opinion, gives her heroines over-the-top skills inconsistent with the Regency period. Her heroes come across as weak in comparison, despite being paragons. William's story is up next.

I am not that caught up in the summersby family stories. However, I enjoyed the heroine in this book. Ms. Barnes gives some interesting facts about medicine and the difficulties women faced in this time period. A pleasant read.
