When a gust of wind jolts a plastic cup out of your hand, where does it go? This book follows the journey of one such cup as it sails through the air, lands in a stream, spills into a river and floats far out to sea. There it becomes part of a giant pile of trash that threatens the well being of the creatures that live there. The book concludes with a guide to simple ways we can change our habits to create cleaner oceans.

About the Author

Tracy’s interest in writing and illustrating for children began in high school when he wrote and illustrated several picture books to fulfill English composition assignments. In the 1990’s he began illustrating for textbook publishers and has worked for Harcourt Brace, National Geographic, Houghton Mifflin, Scholastic and Zaner-Bloser, among others. He wrote, illustrated and paper-engineered “A Visit to the North Pole” in 1993. In 2006, he was commissioned by Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart to illustrate the New York Times bestselling popup book, “Castle” with text and paper-engineering by Kyle Olmon. Since that time, Tracy has been writing and illustrating books under the imprint, "Thar She Blows Books." Titles include "Balloon ABC" which features animated elements on each page, as well as more traditional picture books such as “This Is Our Ocean,” “Mouse Builds a House,” “Nothing to Do!” and “Nobbin, Bobbin & Cobb."
