Together and Apart

These poems were written over a very difficult period of time in my own marriage. In order for my husband and me to heal our hearts and ensure each other of our love, we began to e-mail two or three lines of poetry to each other in a call-and-response format. I saved these five or six lines sent off every workday for nearly two years. I have since rewritten them to reflect a single voice and edited them into what I think are coherent messages.
