About the Author

A little more than thirty years ago, Tom Clancy was a Maryland insurance broker with a passion for naval history. Years before, he had been an English major at Baltimore's Loyola College and had always dreamed of writing a novel. His first effort, The Hunt for Red October, sold briskly as a result of rave reviews, then catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list after President Reagan pronounced it "the perfect yarn." From that day forward, Clancy established himself as an undisputed master at blending exceptional realism and authenticity, intricate plotting, and razor-sharp suspense. He passed away in October 2013.

A native of Texas, Marc Cameron spent twenty-nine years in law enforcement. He served as a uniformed police officer, mounted (horse patrol) officer, SWAT officer, and a U.S. Marshal. Cameron is conversant in Japanese, and travels extensively researching his New York Times-bestselling Jericho Quinn novels. Cameron's books have been nominated for both the Barry Award and the Thriller Award.

This is the second book of Marc's that I have read. I've known him for ten years and respect his writing, dedication, and willingness to give back to the writing community. I know several other authors who have taken over dead franchises and made them thrive decades after the original author is dead and gone. This book is Marc and the writing is his. The plot is difficult to follow with all the foreign names I am not familiar with, but the action is superb. Great feeling of place and the story arc is excellent. Enjoyed every one of its 518 pages.

Fast moving. When will Jack Jr. Really get a girl?

Fast-paced, exciting fiction based on what could happen in the near future. Enjoyable.

I enjoyed the book but when the story refers to Cardinal (of the Kremlin) it reminded me of the great difference between Tom Clancy and those authors who have continued the story lines. This book will have a draw from those who have followed the complete Jack Ryan series but it would not be a book I would recommend to someone who has only read one or two previous books.
