Overview

What would you do if Earth didn’t have enough men?
Would you take a chance and leave the only world you knew behind?

This is the decision Faith Reid faces. Placing all her hope in a new government program, she seizes the opportunity that offers a chance for the women of Earth to find love among the stars, on a world beyond the one they know.

How many times can one man risk rejection?
Would you give up on your dreams?

Torkel Alonson has had enough of being ignored and looked over by females on his adopted home world of Enotia. His pride has suffered and he must accept the painful truth. Females will never choose a male with his evil lineage despite his honorable service to his government’s military.

Can two people looking for the same thing find not just what they want but what they need in one another?

If you like alien romances, you will probably like this one, but it isn't great. The story has great bones, but fails to deliver. The characters are one-dimensional and the military aspect is terrible. For an elite military unit, they are unprofessional, sloppy, and unprepared. A little research would help greatly with getting to know the characters and making the story more engaging. Fleshing out the plot details in places, especially where the main characters are dealing with the aftermath of the kidnapping and betrayal would help the reader empathize and understand them better. The editing is also mediocre, at best. There are many awkward sentences, and one or two that did not make sense at all. Glaring errors like "lessoned" instead of "lessened" detracted from the story. To be fair, I was engaged enough to start the second book in the series, but so far, the lack of research and the use of "there" instead of "their" have already stood out.

It is a new way of looking at alien romance. Great start to the series. I will continue reading these books.

I want to play the Choosing Game too! Loved the characters. I expect more feistiness out of Turlek's mate after her kidnapping ordeal. I expect Faye to turn into a Ninja Warrior, should she be included in future stories of this series. I want to thank the author for her tasteful depictions of shared intimate moments. Thank you for not turning them into vulgar porn, as many other authors tend to do! Kudos to you!

I liked this book but it was pretty predictable and lots of editing errors. Some facts and descriptions in the story were stated one way on a page and then changed later in the story. Those errors take away from the story.

He is the perfect man for a mate. *SIGH* However, she was sweet but lost me when she allowed herself to be blackmailed, resulting in others suffering a horrible fate, all because she didnt want to confess what she did. Hes hot, shes pathetic. Emotional book well written.

Loved this story of Torkel an trying to find a Chosen of his own. Pasted over the last 6 times this his seventh and last time on the sands. Rejection for this strong male is taken its toll, an Torkel would rather be alone then subject himself to it anymore. Human women are now introduced into the Chosen ceramony, for Earth's men population has been cut in half due to a virus that killed men only. So the women are going off world to find their speical someone. Faye arrives with all the women for the Chosen ceremony when someone approaches her about Torkel. Acting like a friend to Torkel, saying she should pick him.... This is has action, suspense, steamy loving, heartache, with172 nook pages, and my favorite of this series.****

I loved this book. A flip on alien men coming to earth that I really enjoyed. Strong women going out into the universe to take a chance on love. More sadness than I expected. I wish it was told to the warriors how she held out for them. How is that for saying it without spoiling anything! A beautiful hea in the end. I definately plan on reading the entire series.

I loved this story; absolutely LOVED it! There are two people who are so desperate for love and family, it’s inevitable they be together. The love scenes between the two are absolutely scorching hot, and I loved this world that Howard built.  This was one of those stories that had me sitting on my couch in tears.  I don’t cry often, and when a story can lead me to that point, I HAVE to give it five stars.  Faith and Torkel go through so much; these two characters captured my heart.  I really want to jump into the next book and I hope it comes out on audio with Michael Pauley as narrator, he did such a wonderful job in the first; I hope he continues the series....Sara

A good book but I wanted Faye to help them out more by describing the man who blackmailed her in more detail. Maybe someone draw a picture? Other than that little detail I liked the book. About 180 pages long...................................................................................

Loved Torkel. Did not like the wimpy heroine. She made dumb decision after dumb decision. She finally shows us some back bone while she is being tortured after the kidnapping. Why didn't she tell Torkel and his boys more about what those monsters were asking her during those sessions? Maybe it would have helped them narrow the traitor suspect list down. They wanted to know the guys skill sets so obviously the traitor didn't have access. Anyway, will still read the next one. Michelle's heroines are usually super kick ass.
