When Bella West crash lands on penal planet Dragath25, the only thing standing between her and a mass of brutal criminals is one of their own, a ruthless loner known only as 673. But what starts out as a desperate trade based on protection and raw lust soon blossoms into a scorching need that will push them both to the edge. A tale of unbridled desire, stunning sacrifice, and unwavering love, Trapped is the first book in The Condemned Series.

Cadet Bella West has one simple objective when she joins the scientific mission to Dragath25, the notorious penal planet housing Earth's condemned. Earn the credits necessary to save her family from starvation. But when her shuttle crashes and the majority of her crew perish, her simple mission becomes complicated fast. Now, to stay alive she'll have to depend on one of Dragath's own. But such protection doesn't come free.

Convicted of a crime he didn't commit, 673 has become more beast than man after eight grueling years on an unforgiving, hazardous planet of dirt and rock-and even more treacherous inhabitants. He doesn't look out for anyone but himself and he certainly never grows attached. So when the bold female offers him pleasure in return for protection, he takes the deal without hesitation. He never expects how her touch will alter him. Or the growing realization that saving her may be the key to his own salvation.

But as dangers mount and their 'simple' deal unravels will he prove to be her surprise savior or her ultimate downfall? Because caring for someone on Dragath25 may prove the greatest hazard of all.

There is just something about this type of story that I enjoy.  A woman is stranded on a prison planet and a strong man needs to step up and protect her in exchange for her body.   I have read almost everything I can find that is along the same lines, there isn’t much, and I look often.  I recently stumbled on Trapped and of course, I jumped on it. I think to quote another reviewer the heroin is “TSTL” or “too stupid to live”.   But Bell fits the description accurately.  It is one thing to have a brave independent heroin, but when you make her a bumbling incompetent mess who constantly needs rescue, it is beyond frustrating.   I would have like to see Bell either fall in line or contribute, rather than just being a burden and causing more issues.  Especially due to the fact she couldn’t follow simple directions.    Trapped was a good story, not my favorite I have read in this sub-genre.  I will be interesting to see what the next book in the series offers.  I am giving Trapped 3 Boundless Stars.

Trapped is book one in The Condemned Series by Alison Aimes. This is my very first book by Alison. I have to admit I’ve been staring at this series for awhile now. I mean, just gaze at this cover. I hoped that the book would live up to it’s cover but holy wow, I was not prepared for this! I could not stop reading. This book is hot enough to scorch your fingertips as you turn the pages. But it also is filled with hope. These characters find themselves in a race for survival. But along the way, they also save each other from themselves. Cadet Annabella (Bella) West was orphaned at an early age and has been struggling to care for her younger brother and sister. She is all they have. Earth’s resources have died out. There is nothing but famine and blight. To protect her siblings, Bella has joined the Winthrop Humanity research mission on a trip to the Planet Dragath25 to search for resources that might help to save earth. But, Dragath25 is a penal planet. It is where all of Earth’s most horrendous criminals are sent. When Bella’s ship crashes onto Dragath25, an entirely new mission transpires. A mission for survival. “There were no rules here on Dragath25. No honor. Only violence and might.” Prisoner 673 aka Convict was sent to Dragath25 eight years ago for a crime he was innocent of. He learned quickly that he could only rely on himself for survival. In the long years, he has become more animal than man. He was out scavenging when the ship went down and he saw her. In his mind, he instantly called her “fighter girl.” She was so brave and tough. But, she wouldn’t survive five minutes without him. So he offers her a deal, he will protect her for a price. The price of her body. “He wanted to be her everything. He wanted to be her hero forever.” Something happened when Bella touched him, when skin met skin. He was reminded of the man he used to be, he was reminded of what it felt like to really feel. To be human. Bella never really feared Convict. He brought her pleasure like she had never experienced before. The more time they spent together, the more their feelings for each other grew. Dragath25 was filled with danger, though. There were horrible creatures that roamed at night, there was the gang of prisoners that brutalized everything in their path, and there was danger amongst her own, the other survivors of the ship. All Convict wants to do is keep Bella safe but Bella is his fighter girl, and constantly doesn’t follow instructions in her attempt to help. This book builds and builds to a gripping conclusion that will leave you gasping. This is an intensely suspenseful story of survival but also filled with hope and love. You can’t help but to fall for these two and hope that they can find a way to be together. This does come to a full conclusion with a perfect epilogue. The next book in the series will be Ava Davies story who was Bella’s shipmate. I can’t wait to continue. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. I hope that if this is a trope you enjoy, I’ve convinced you to read it. I hope you’ll love it as much as I did. “Wherever we are, Bella, wherever we go, you’ll always be my home.”

When reading Trapped, I could barely believe it was the first book I read by this author. Alison Aimes has an unique imagination, and she manages to craft gritty, but believable, scifi worlds. In Trapped, Bella West crashes on Dragath25, a penal planet where a person’s life isn’t worth much. It’s a harsh world, where survival is the only thing that matters, and in order to survive, Bella has to make a deal with 673. He is ruthless, a criminal, but there’s another side to him too. I liked Bella. She’s always taken care of others, and even on Dragath25, she’s still putting others’ needs in front of her own. She wouldn’t leave without her friends, for example, no matter how dire the situation ahead of them. Throughout the book, she went through quite the development, and the Bella at the end is a more mature and stronger version than the Bella we encountered at the start. 673 started out as rather unlikeable – he cared about no one but himself, or at least that’s what he liked to believe. But soon enough, he starts opening up to Bella, becoming more of the person he was before he was brought to Dragath25, and then he becomes more likeable, and by the end, I really felt for him. He’s actually a decent person once you strip away the layers of guilt he’s felt for all this time. With excellent world building, great writing, and a lot of hot, sizzling chemistry between the main characters, I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys scifi romance. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love it!!! Whan an amazing sci-fi plot and story! And for this to be the author's debut novel, it's simply amazing. I'm a fan! This story has just the right amount of action, romance, danger and angst. I loved how the author build the new futuristic world and the planet 'of death', Dragath25. If I'm honest it does remind me a bit of Mars, with how the atmosphere and landskape is portrayed. Also, the creatures that live there are unique and highly dangerous. I'm pretty sure that without convict 673 aka. Caine's help Bella and the rest of the surviving crew would be death in just a couple of days. Survival on such planet is harsh and unforgiving. Only the strong and smart survive. I didn't judge Bella for the deal she made with Caine. In fact, I think that was a really smart thing to do. She was a survivor long before she even set foot on Dragath25. Since her early age she had to take care of her siblings and made sure they survived, despite everyone telling her that they will never make it. I love her character. She's a strong, smart, stubborn and passionate woman who has her morals set into stone. She would never leave her friends behind, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem. Also, she's one badass chick! Especially near the end I was like, 'Who is she and what have you done with the old Bella?' And don't even get me started on the scorching hot sex scenes. ;) As for Caine, I felt for him. He was sent to this horrible planet because he was only trying to do the right thing. And look where that got him! He carries so much guilt over what happened, that he over the years starts to believe he's one of the filthy convicts that really do deserve to rot on Dragath25. But he's so not! And I'm so glad he had someone like Bella, who shows him what an amazing and good person he truly is. They made a crazy good team, who had each others backs at all times. They learned how to survive together, how to start trusting each other, how to feel again and above all how to start living again. Their story is beautiful and inspiring. They went through a lot, but in the end came out stronger than ever. A great read, that I definitely recommend!
