For the new, or amateur traveler, this book is a must read. Larssen and Lientz have compiled an encyclopedia on traveling and managed to put all that information into one concise handbook. Easy to read, covering everything one neeeds to know when planning a trip, the book is filled with anecdotes that not only educates the reader, but entertains as well. The writers, drawing on their vast travel experience, succeed in giving the reader an education in the art of travel. Like your american express card, you should not leave home without it!

This book could easily be called Travel 101 as it is likely all that anyone could ever need to know about travel. It's more than a guide; it's jam packed with practical advice for seasoned travelers and novices alike. I don't think any topic is left off - the authors cover everything from A-Z... and then some! From deciding where to go and what to do to planning and packing to organizing photos and memories, it's all covered and in a very informative and entertaining style. I do not travel much so appreciated all the detailed info and tips... most of which I would not have thought of myself. But I'm sure that even people who rack up the frequent flier miles will get a lot out of reading this book. It's informative, humorous and a good reference book for anyone who travels.

Without a doubt I will be a smarter, more confident, and less fearful traveler after reading the Travel Fun, Travel Smart... book. I will also feel more at ease after reading the little stories in the boxes, because I realize that, "things happen" when traveling, and these little things are normal occurrences. So, I will relax and just cope with what is and record it as one of "my travel stories". I also will build a little extra time to get these little things worked out and still be on schedule. By the way, I literally traveled around the world on Pan Am Flight #1 in 1975, when traveling around the world was less common. I still learned some timely tips on security and cruises. Lee and Ben, thanks for sharing.

Very unique book because it combines funny stories along with travel guidelines. Having traveled a great deal, I found the chapter on solving many travel problems very complete and useful. There are also two excellent chapters on travel planning as well as a chapter on how to get the most out of a trip you just completed.

This is an interesting book because it combines funny stories with travel suggestions. The authors share their wealth of information in a casual, easy to read way. There is a chapter of over 100 travel problems and what to do about them-very useful. The book covers everything-from planning a trip to putting away memories. A good travel reference book with many suggestions on saving money.
