About the Author

As a child, Erica was so afraid of sharks that she worried about them in lakes, swimming pools...even bathtubs. She has since gotten braver—and learned that sharks are rarely found in any of those places. She still keeps a watchful eye when she swims and bathes, just in case. Before becoming a full-time writer, Erica worked at First Book, a nonprofit literacy organization. Erica is an enthusiastic, inspiring speaker and presenter at schools, libraries, and conferences.
