Pio da Pietrelcina, noto anche come Padre Pio, al secolo Francesco Forgione (Pietrelcina, 25 maggio 1887 – San Giovanni Rotondo, 23 settembre 1968), è stato un presbitero e mistico italiano dell'Ordine dei frati minori cappuccini; beatificato nel 1999, è stato proclamato santo da papa Giovanni Paolo II nel 2002.

È stato destinatario, ancora in vita, di una venerazione popolare di dimensioni imponenti, anche in seguito alla fama di taumaturgo attribuitagli dai devoti.
