The right love is worth the wait.

Seven years have passed since I fell for Boone West. The brooding bad boy. We were friends, even when I secretly wanted more, but I settled for what he offered. After he left Wyoming--and me--I grew up. Moved on. Or so I believed until he blew back into my life with the scorching force of an Arizona desert wind.

I'm not that innocent sixteen-year-old girl anymore--I'm a businesswoman who swore never to settle again. But this older, wiser, hotter version of Boone unsettles me. How am I supposed to resist his megawatt smile and his built-army-strong body? Especially when he's inserting himself into every aspect of my life? Now he's determined to prove he can offer me everything that he couldn't before--and he's the only man that can fix the heart that he broke.

Joining the army? Best decision I ever made. Even though it meant I had to leave her behind. Sierra McKay. The wide-eyed beauty, who saw more in me than I saw in myself. I didn't dare offer her anything more than friendship, because one kiss, one touch and I wouldn't have had the guts to go.

I've worked hard to become the man I am. I have a career. A purpose. After a chance encounter with the one woman I never forgot--I'm not leaving anything else to chance. Now that I've chased her across three states, I'm ready to demonstrate that the passion we couldn't act on before burns hotter than ever between us. And I'll use every weapon in my arsenal to show Sierra McKay that she's always been mine.

NOTE: This is the first book in a new spinoff series! No need to read the books in the Rough Riders series to enjoy it!

Waited years for Sierra and Boone 's story. Well worth the wait.

It's finally here...and well worth the wait. I'm happy to say that this book brought me the closure I wanted and needed from the West/McKay families. Not only do you find out what happens with Boone and Sierra, Mrs. James throws you a bone with a glimpse at some of the other Next Generation characters. There are NO cliff hangers, but it will leave you wanting more.

I was given an ARC of this book for a fair and honest review. This book succeeds on so many levels. The heat level is off the charts, from the casual banter among the friends, all the way into the bedroom and beyond. The development of the relationship between Boone and Sierra is handled with aplomb as are other family undercurrents. James lays the foundation for future Legacy stories that promise to be as successful as her Rough Riders series, hopefully the amazing Lu and Raj. To say I love this book is an understatement. Boone and Sierra do not get off to a propitious start in James’s long awaited continuation of their story that began in James’s Gone Country. She still is harboring negative feelings from when he deserted her to join the army not realizing he was as crazy about her as she was him. Although she’s moved on and made a successful career in her father’s conglomerate on her own merit despite snarky remarks of nepotism, she still tries to deny her ongoing feelings for Boone. They encounter each other in Wyoming when she is ill and he comes to her aid then again in Arizona in her workplace. She discourages him both times, but he persists in his efforts to get her to listen to why he suddenly left.

After 4 1/2 years, we finally have their story. Boone and Seirra was worth the wait. We were introduced to this couple in the Rough Rider series book #14 Gone Country. I nagged Lorelei James for their book and she made their story my new favorite. This book is a must read....but I highly recommend you start with book one in the Rough Rider series if you're new to this author....best erotic romance series I've found! Enjoy!!!!

Bravo! We were all devastated when Boone left Sierra in Gone Country. Our hearts were broken right along with hers. Fear not, for I bring you good news, Unbreak My Heart picks up the pieces of our shattered hearts and stitches them back into working order. Older, wiser and more steady than ever Boone 2.0 is everything you knew he wanted to become. Sierra is a fierce businesswoman but her personal life lacks luster. Enter swoon worthy Boone and she soon finds herself falling not for the boy who broke her heart but for the man who has the power to heal it. We knew these two were meant for each other and there is no finer writer to tell their tale. The rich writing flawlessly marries the past with the present (so even if you haven't indulged in Gone Country you will not be lost). It couldn't have been done better. I look forward to seeing what the Mckaykeeters bring us.

"Unbreak My Heart" is the first book in a new Young Adult series called, "The Rough Riders Legacy" by Lorelei James. I loved the story and it is a great start to a new series!! It is the next generation of Mc Kays. I really loved seeing Kyler, Anton, Hayden, and even AJ’s nephew Mase as college-aged men. They were still kids in the original Rough Riders series. The way they are all friends, how they look out for one another and spend a lot of time together, is great to see how close they are. I have been a fan of Ms. James' books since I started reading the Rough Rider series over three years ago. I have read every book in that series and loved each one of them. The characters Boone West and Sierra McKay were introduced in the 12th book in the Rough Riders series called, "Gone Country". That is one of my favorite books in the series. Boone and Sierra were just secondary characters in the story, but I am very happy that they've had their own story written. In "Gone Country" they were best friends that had an attraction to each other but never acted on their feelings and then Boone left to go into the Army. Now seven years later, Boone and Sierra have grown up. They have matured and each have successful lives, but they've never forgotten each other or the attraction and feelings they've shared. Boone is an Army nurse and helps treat Sierra at the medical clinic in Wyoming because she is sick. He tells her that he has to talk to her. She isn't ready to talk to him and leaves to go back home to Arizona when she is better. After talking to Gavin, Sierra's father, Boone goes after Sierra to talk to her. He wants Sierra to give him a chance and show her what they can have together. While reading the story you can now understand more the reasoning why Boone left and his background. They each have issues in their past to deal with, but they find it is easier to get through together. I would definitely recommend reading this story. There is a wide spectrum of emotions throughout this story and it is written beautifully! I am very much looking forward to reading the next stories in this series with the other McKay cousins!!

Anyone who has loved the Rough Rider Series is going to enjoy getting to know the next generation of McKay's and West's in the RR Legacy Series. This much anticipated book was well worth the wait and kicks off this new series in true Lorelei James fashion that will leave you anxiously awaiting the next installment. Boone and Sierra's story is a fantastic read that runs the gamut from heartbreaking to funny and back again with the introduction of new characters you're going to love and updating you on old favorites. This book did not disappoint! And for those of you are not familiar with the original Rough Rider Series, there's no time like the present. Jump right in, the water is fine. They're definitely worth it!

I openly admit it. I'm a huge Lorelei James fan. I haven't read everything she's written but the many I have read have been excellent. She creates very human characters, writes great dialog and keeps the stories intense and moving at exactly the right speed. Did I mention sexy? Her series are super hot. Loving an author's previous work doesn't mean I automatically give everything they write a great rating though. They still have to earn it and that is exactly what James did with this book! She earned every one of the five stars. I was overjoyed to get the chance to read the ARC for UNBREAK MY HEART. The book was everything I expected and more! We originally got to know Sierra and Boone as teenagers in GONE COUNTRY (Rough Riders Book 14). That book was about Gavin (Sierra's father) and Rielle but we also got a lot of insight into Sierra and Boone's relationship. They developed such a sweet friendship and were so good together until Boone shocked Sierra by telling her he'd joined the Army the night before he shipped out. Nothing breaks the young heart worse than finding out your unrequited love wasn't unrequited at all, getting the kiss of a lifetime and immediately losing that love. Skip ahead seven years and Boone is ready to reconnect with the one he never got over. Can Sierra forgive him? Does she even want to? Can he win her back? The McKay-kateers (Sierra and Boone's shared cousins) are highly entertaining, creating great interest in their upcoming stories. They provide comic relief, several instances of tension and give Sierra and Boone nudges when needed. Sierra's roommate, Lu, is a hoot and I hope there will be a book about her relationship with Boone's Army buddy, Raj. We find out so much about Boone's backstory in this book and it's more tragic than we knew. He's had it rough but still finds it in him to love. Sierra isn't without her childhood challenges though they don't compare to Boone's. They've worked hard at their respective careers and though they are still very young they've accomplished a lot. Nothing for these two is story-tale easy. They have a lot to work through career-wise, with their dysfunctional parents, learning how to be a couple and finding ways to live in harmony. I love that their happily ever after takes work. Just like for the rest of us. This is the best James book yet. It’s hard to believe she could improve on her already excellent writing but this story is truly above and beyond. The dialog is ingenious. I laughed (the opening scene is side-splitting fun). I cried. I couldn’t put it down. It’s got to be nearly impossible to get this many hours of fantastic entertainment for the price of this book! P.S. I really hope she’s wrong about the post-Manning era Denver Broncos though.

This is a story I have been long awaiting to read and it was a great, wonderful book to read. I loved it, couldn’t put it down once I started, wanted to know what these young McKay/West’s have been up to and was definitely not disappointed. I was hoping it would hold up to what I was hoping it would be and Ms. James went above and beyond what I could dream. From the sexy, wild confidence the young Mckay’s showed to the wild and sexy Boone who turns back up to claim his love he left behind. These characters are the wild and crazy next generation that is sure to shack up the world. Boone West left Sierra behind to join the Army, but now he is back to claim the one woman he left behind to find himself and isn’t willing to stop at anything to get her back. Sierra was brokenhearted when Boone left her with little notice and dropped the bombshell on her before he left that he had feelings for her. Now 7 years later he is back and she isn’t sure she is willing to let him back in her life after being hurt. With some great new characters, Lu and Raj added in this bunch and the sexy, smooth Boone is willing to work hard to get her back.

Ahhh... Hear that? That's the sound of coming home to those dirty-mouthed, deliciously sexy cowboys that Lorelei James is so famous for. It's been a hot minute since I drowned myself in the amazing world of the McKay's and oh, what a way to get reacquainted. Unbreak My Heart is book one in the Rough Riders Legacy series, about the McKay children. They've definitely done a lot of growing up since we last saw them and Sierra and Boone have both taken life by the balls and made something of themselves. But the time has come for Boone to make his move. That move he would have died to make before he left Wyoming, and the only woman to ever hold his heart. Yes, he still has every reason to stay 10,000 miles away from her, but he just can't. Sierra is it for him, so he'll follow her, and wait for her as long as he needs to. But of course Sierra was never one to live by a man's schedule, even if it is the man that stole her heart 7 years ago when he joined the Army. They've both got their reasons and reservations, but most of all they've both go that spark that ignites when they get close. But will that be enough to bridge the love almost lost, and the changes and shattering truths to come? This book blew my mind. I mean, we all know Lorelei can write a bad*** book, but Unbreak My Heart took it up a notch. She made it a book that set up future Legacy novels, but also gave the readers time to get to know Sierra and Boone as adults, together and apart. And that's where it went right. Readers need that time to know them and their lives. There is a LOT of ground to cover, but also it gave me a solidification for their hot and heavy romance to become a concrete relationship. I truly enjoyed every word of this book and I can't wait for the books to follow it. Sierra and Boone will make you (please pardon the rhyme!) swoon. These two just fit together. They're not perfect, but they sure as hell are perfect for one another. But there's also a lot of growing up they do in UBMH. And the best part is they do it together. I honestly wanted to start re-reading this book the minute I finished it. I didn't want it to be over, though is was satisfying to a T. You can expect the unrivaled steam and sex, along with a gripping story that will leave you both content and dying for more. A must-read for the summer! Happy Reading! *ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I've been reading romance long enough to know that sometimes those books that are the most highly anticipated, those that loyal readers can't wait for, can be disappointing. Expectations are high, and each reader has their own idea of how the story should play out. I'm always a little nervous reading one of these books. Lorelei James’ fans have been waiting for Sierra and Boone’s story for 3 ½ years, and it's finally here!! All my angst and worry was completely unnecessary--there's not a single disappointing thing about Unbreak My Heart! Boone and Sierra exceeded my expectations, and then some! Seven years have passed since we first met the pair in Gone Country, and lots has happened since then. The grown up versions of Boone and Sierra are just as appealing, maybe more so, than the teenage versions. I loved finding out more about Boone’s early life, and getting to know the man he has grown into. He's smart, driven, funny, and sweet. I love that Lorelei’s characters have flaws, doubts, and vulnerabilities; they're so much more authentic and relatable. His feelings for Sierra could melt the coldest of hearts. I knew these two would be amazing together, and they truly are.Young Sierra could be bratty at times, and so can grown-up Sierra, but she's become a savvy, successful, confident young woman, with a great sense of humor and a very big heart. I loved, loved, loved seeing Kyler, Anton, Hayden, even AJ’s nephew, Mase as college-aged men. A new generation of McKay men set loose on the female population--I can't wait to see what they get up to in this new Rough Riders Legacy series. If they're anything lIke their fathers and uncles, we’ll be entertained for years to come!

All I can say right now. Is hot, hot, hot. Diffidently worth the wait. Just like everyone else who loves the Rough Riders Series I have been waiting for this book for over 4 years. I'm super happy to report Boone and Sierra did not disappoint at all. Tis book is a brilliant start to a new series call the Rough Riders Legecy series. Like all of her books Lorelei James' writing was on point. The characters are engaging and lovable. Their story will just pull you in and the next thing you know is you spent the last 24 hrs straight reading this awesome book. I just can't say enough good things about this book. I really loved it.

The book all Lorelei James fans have been waiting for, Boone and Sierra!!!!! We met Sierra and Boone in Gone Country. Boone was leaving for the Army and Sierra was heartbroken. Boone had just told her that he had feelings for her but had to leave. Sierra was the one person that could keep him in Wyoming. Fast forward several years, Boone is now ready to claim Sierra the way he could not back in high school. Sierra has been working hard. She has moved up in her dad's company after graduating early. She has her life somewhat mapped out, then Boone reappears in her life and she runs. The best part of this novel is that we don't have the separation that most books have to bring the leads back together. They already moved through that prior to the book. We see two people that were emotionally stunted by bad parents, who have issues that need dealing with, and that work through them together. There are hiccups like any new young couple would have but the best part is that this couple realizes that they need to work together to move through them. LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!! So worth the wait.

The was well worth the wait. I'm so happy that Sierra and Boone finally got their story. They have been two of my favorites from the RR series. They are funny and complex I just love them. I also loved seeing the McKay-kateers grown up and I can't wait to see what is to come in this awesome new series!!!!!!!!

I need to go back and read some of the older ones since it's been awhile. Fortunately I remembered enough that the story made sense. You don't have to read the others to enjoy the book. Just enhances it if you know some of the back stories. One pet peeve I have is about ages lining up. They didn't I here. But that is a minor issue I homed in one.

So perfect! Boone and Sierra are so perfect for each other. Another strong female and shows that love can survive her career.

I don't recall Bone and Sierra so maybe I would have liked this book better if I had been waiting for their story. For me, this was between a 3 or 4 but th humor was a bit forced, the sex scenes lacked...

This book had a lot of inner monologue, which I don't really like. The storyline seemed very improbable as well (even for a romance novel) There wasn't much drama either to keep my interest.

No spoilers, but OH! MY! EM! GEE! This book has been on my mind for YEARS! It was all I ever could have expected it to be and so much more! I cannot wait for more stories in the Rough Riders Legacy series! I want more stories with the McKay-kateers! Kudos Lorelei James, you outdid yourself and that's why I love you and your books so much!

Just like Boone and Sierra, this was worth the wait! James did not disappoint! I was so glad to see some of the old characters and flashbacks to the old Boone and Sierra, but loved seeing the grown up versions as well. I couldn't put the book down! Can't wait to see what other McKay legends are on the horizon!!!

It seems like I've been waiting a decade for this book to be written although it was only 3.5 years. In that time, expectations were high, and yet again, Ms. James did not disappoint. When we were initially introduced to Sierra and Boone in Gone Country, they were too young for anything but puppy love. Now... WhooWee. Light the sheets on fire! As always the character development of all the players was outstanding, not just the primary leads. I cannot wait for the next installment of the McKay-eteers, and the new generation of McKay adventures. Thank you LJ for another fabulous spin off (to continue my "muscle man chest literary collection" ) . **ARC provided by the author, but that has not influenced my review**.
