Catherine Buquet has never forgotten the books that mesmerized her as a child. After completing her studies in Modern Literature and teaching for several years, she began writing stories for children, and is now a full-time writer. Catherine has read countless stories: at bedtime and during the day, at university, to her students; and to her own daughters. Under the Umbrella is her first picture book.
After obtaining a diploma in animation film at Les arts Décoratifs de Paris, Marion Arbona started working as an illustrator for children’s books. She has published more than thirty children’s books, and her work has been rewarded in several international competitions. Gouache and pencil are Marion’s preferred mediums for creating her colorful illustrations. When she is not drawing, she is particularly interested in deep sea fishes, cats (even though she is allergic) and weird plants. She also likes reading and watching movies. Her favorite gouache color is light cadmium red. Marion was awarded several illustration prizes in the USA and in Canada, where she lived for ten years. She returned to live in Paris in 2015.
