This book covers turbulent times, heartbreaking sadness, and unforgettable incidents with teenagers as they travel from ninth grade to senior high graduation. Many become leaders and faithful Christians working for a better world. Others fall short, yet lessons can be learned from all.

This honest, relatable, and at times comic tale of teens becoming adults provides a thoughtful meditation for anyone interested in youth and the challenges of their spiritual development. The book relates the essence of the human spirit in teens and provides a compelling tale of teenagers working with the author for more than three decades.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the personal stories from the author's life to those of the teenagers in the Sunday school class he taught, you'll be pulled into asking yourself this question: Am I accomplished or still under construction? Using honest, creative, insightful methods to explore some of the tough issues that face today's youth, Mr. Ledbetter set up a classroom where all were acknowledged, affirmed, and challenged. This book is not a "how to" for other teachers. It's a book that will make you think about your own spiritual journey. Like Mr. Ledbetter, I believe that belonging to a community of faith is one of the most beneficial aspects of that journey.
