The Wrap-up book in the Knights of Darkness Chronicles brings to head the issues and injustices the supernaturals face by humans all throughout the world. A rebel group of very powerful vampires are tired of the negotiations between the UN and supernatural council that just never get anywhere. They take action to force changes in the laws. A worldwide virus is created and they aren't going to share the antidote until their demands are met. Many of the vampires and shapeshifters agree with the end result, but not the means. When one of their own is infected as retaliation for action taken--all supernaturals had been warned not to help the humans--the group from Chicago won't sit still and work to stop the madness. We meet the seven original vampires created ten thousand years ago and the Chicago vampires are nothing but babies compared to the abilities of these seven. Arrogant is such an inadequate word for six of these seven who are too old to care much about any but their own pleasures. The editing is much better than in the first editions of the earlier books; a huge improvement. But there are still plenty of areas where Spell Check won't find the mistake because a valid word was spelled in error. The concept of the story itself is interesting and there is plenty of emotion and some action. Sex--at least the talk or desire of it--plays a rather large role among the vampires, especially the older ones. There are perhaps 3 onscreen sex scenes containing homosexual or heterosexual couplings.Overall I thought the book was okay, not especially either good or bad. But I was happy to have read the final installment after following this series since the first book, Desires Unleashed, made its debut. The Wrap-up book in the Knights of Darkness Chronicles brings to head the issues and injustices the supernaturals face by humans all throughout the world. Yes shocked, this series ended. I was hoping for a book on Adan's lion pride moving to Montana and looking forward to how the females dealt with Kysen. Basically, the female lionesses become sex slaves and that is it, very disappointed in this storyline when it could have been so much more. We are told in the previous book that Gabe and Barry move there too, then no more on Gabe, and Barry is back in Chicago. We never hear anymore about Brian from California, whose character I found interesting, did he ever make it back to Desires Unleashed? I guess we'll never know.

Unholy Alliance, book 6, is the final chapter in the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles. As with all of the books Unholy Alliance is a mix of suspense, romance, and hot steamy sex. As with book 3 this book has a lot more action than romance with a clash between the original vampires over the fate of the human race. We have a lot more vampires in this book and less shifters, we meet Kysen's maker as well as other fonts(the original 6 vampires are known as fonts). Natasha's life is in great danger and Darian and Xaver what ever they have to in order to save her and in the processes help the human race. Unholy Alliance takes up at the moment the cliffhanger at the end of book 5, The Lion's Den, stops off. It is a roller coaster ride of meetings with more and more powerful beings looking for a way to save Natashia. With the occasional homage being required we also get some heavy duty vampire on vampire action going on. Ms. Simmons wraps up the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles with a bang and a whole new world. The entire series has been a fantastic read and I have enjoyed the opportunity to review each book. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great urban fantasy series! Hate to see it end, but l know these characters will be back.they have to, they are like old friends now. Even though this series has "ended" l hope to see Darian, Xavier and Natasha in the future...
